Hoping Hamilton's next step in his progression will be to bait QB's into throwing to specific players (ala Ed Reed) by acting like he's going a different direction pre-snap and circling back for a pick as soon as the QB commits to throwing to a higher percentage receiver, maybe someone being covered by Stevens.
This game was.a good test for the offense to go against a good defense in the browns before the playoffs. Yeah the browns are a mess but the defensive side of the ball will always be a bright spot for them and gave the ravens a good fight until the end so great effort for them.
Ravens had so much rust it took the entire first half to clean it off. Kudos too to Browns' defence that knows us. They better take stock and get serious for next week. Thankfully it started in fourth quarter.
17:45 earlier in the year myself and many people were saying Mike Macdonald took some time to really get the boys going defensively. It made sense that Orr would need the same time. They both needed time to see what the strengths and weaknesses of their players were within their schemes, which is why position changes were made and other players given more playing time. Now the boys are rolling and I know all the credit goes to Orr. We can’t ignore the love those guys show him.
While I resoundingly agree, I think the FO would have been tempted to still use Faalele another painful year. I’d rather know sooner rather than later what the needs are.
Browns defense is legit. Especially their front. They were living in our backfield. Zay is a big loss, but I'm hoping we can gameplan around the guys we have.
This game was a great example of the value of Hill, Mitchell and what should be a 4th or 5th WR option that Monken has not given enough action throughout the season, specifically the rookie Tez Walker. With Zay going down it showed the weakness of the WR room quite clearly. That 4th and goal call was kinda silly. If Monken would use Play-Action on 1st DOWN more often things would be a lot easier on that series.
With all due respect, Agholor, and Wallace are solid options. Walker, whom I like, is still learning and has a learning curve ~ like most mid to late round rookie WR’s. The Ravens utilize “Big” formations more than any other team in the NFL by far. The Tight Ends and Ricard as a result, take away snaps from any perspective 4th or 5th WR… Between The Two tight ends, they combined for 97 receptions, over 1100 yards, and 17 touchdowns…I understand the sentiment, but it’s difficult to argue against the results ~ the first team in the history of the NFL with over 4K passing and 3K running.. Also, the team addressed this alleged lack of depth with Dionte Johnson, however he didn’t want to be here.. No Ravens fans wants to see Flowers out, but to blame Monken for not getting Walker more reps.. isn’t the answer. No team in the NFL has 4th or 5th options at WR who are just as good as the top 2/3… there just aren’t enough snaps to go around in THIS offense. If this were a team that utilizes 3WR sets more, then maybe. Also you mentioned Hill and Mitchell, what team has that type of quality talent at the RB position, and how many teams utilize a FB…? Like the Ravens … I didn’t even mention Charlie Kolar, the 3rd TE who gets plenty of snaps as well. The Ravens RARELY have 3WR on the field at a time. Just not what they do or have done. Hopeful for a speedy recovery for Zay…
Not only were the players having some difficulties earlier in the game, coaching seemed to be having similar gaffs. Earlier in the game, l was listening on the radio. We were driving down the field. There was a bad (short) spot by the officials, that Gerry Sandusky pointed out on the broadcast. He asked why they didn't get a measurement from the officials. I believe we tried to run it (less than a yard) on third down, and were stopped. The next play, Harbs, took the 1st time out of the game. I believe we ended up going for it on fourth down and being stopped. (A pass play to the end zone) My question is, should Harbaugh have demanded a measurement, or could he have ? We ended up burning a very early time out, going for it on fourth, within field goal range, not converting, and leaving points off the scoreboard. Once again, coaching needs to be on point for playoff games as much as players need to perform and they seem to be slipping ...
I just wanted to say that maybe it was the extra time off that made the offense be off. I do believe they will play better next week. Sometimes it's better to win ugly then not win at all
I think it was a little difficult for the Ravens to be extremely motivated for this game. Grant the division was on the line but we all know Cleveland’s front office wanted to lose this game. I won’t take too much from this game. Bring on the Steelers!
@ Well Pittsburg seems to always hit hard and normally have a tough defense 🤷🏾♂️ & though the Browns have had their fair share of offensive troubles, but on Defense they aren’t slouches and their defense is tough as well ✌🏾
One of the delay of game penalties came right after they did a tush push, and looked like we got it. I think they were perplexed and were waiting to see the play and wait on a challenge
Felt pretty pissed off after this game, some good moments at the end but overall it felt like we went back to our bad habits after it looked like we cleaned it up
This x 1000! It's always been this way with the John Harbaugh-led Ravens. One or two great games against top teams where it looks like they've FINALLY turned the corner and then a game like this. Every announcer/commentator was saying the same thing: "The Ravens should have come out of the gate the way they did after the first half, NOT like they actually did in the game." As soon as I saw Lamar running and running, and not Henry running and running, I got that sick feeling in the pit of my stomach. Last year's most important game and only 6 or 7 designed runs from the LOS against a team that's weakness was run D?!!! C'mon, man. It was deja vu all over again. At this point, given the fact that it's all scripted by the bookies anyway, I just watch to see how much the refs will hijack the game, and that's it. No more live/die by the team. They don't care; I don't care. (Except I do care a little bit; just not like I used to.)
@@skaybaltimore agree 100%. Feels like we over think shit when we play in important games , and try to get cute and end up playing sloppy and out of character
4 more wins in a row! Feel like our offense was sleep walking in the first half. Maybe it was the 10 day break. But aslong as we establish the run, limit the penalties and win the line of scrimmage i have no doubt we’ll be playing in February
And this Browns defense reminds me so much of KC that 2nd half really is promising on the way they adjusted to the physicality. Stephenson has a target on him, he has to get better for the defense to reach elite level.
Qe had to fight the browns and was definitely trying to play spoiler , the drops , the drops, again , the offensive line struggle showed up again. We just struggle against good defensive fronts, worry me. Penalties were a problem. I feel like the drops had a lot to do with Lamars stats in this game . They touched the receivers hands, "You make the play." Bateman and Andrew's did come thru with some TD,s but these are my worries going forward .
Coach, I am very concerned about this teams situational decision making. When we could have easily made it a 2 possession game and go up 10-0 with a chip shot, we went for it. Later in the game we continue to throw the ball unnecessarily. I'm worried
I think the extended break, the Ravens lose a little from the normal weekly rhythm, and have to get it back after playing. I think they will be on point come next week!
The only defensive strategy to win against us or the chiefs is to play man, get pressure up front with 4/5 and hope you get a little lucky. I feel our defense is very different between paying man and zone
I felt pretty optimistic about the playoffs until after THIS game. Some old demons reared their ugly heads. Then Zay goes out with a sprained knee. Suddenly, I don't feel so optimistic. I feel like we'll be lucky to get past the divisional round. What a rollercoaster of a season. I don't know how to feel.
If we playing KC or Cincinnati I would be for going for the first 4th down but I agree should take the points. Even if it were the bills I would take the points cause they’re offense don’t scare me
Coach I believe Mark has to be stronger at the catch point. Lamar could throw a perfect pass but if the ball hits your hands and you catch it and let the DB rip it out that means the DB just wanting it more.
The ravens zone defense on 3rd and long is terrible. Malik Harrison need to be out and Roquan need to blitz . We need to have all dbs and one linebacker. Give Stephenson some help
17:50 “Zach Orr’s defensive staff”? Seriously? Come on coach, earlier in the year you were putting all of the blame squarely on Zach’s shoulders when the defense wasn’t performing. Now they are and it’s his defensive staff that gets the credit. We can give credit where credit is due, lest we become disingenuous people.

For the years I’ve been following All-22 I’ve never known him to discredit or to be disrespectful to coaches and or players. Quite the opposite. I also recall him saying that Orr has a tough job, following MacDonald, and a huge learning curve with the other departures on the defensive staff.
