Zlatan Ibrahimovic's comments undermine the LA Galaxy and MLS - Brian McBride | ESPN FC

  • ESPN FC's Dan Thomas, Brian Mcbride, Steve Nicol, Craig Burley and Gab Marcotti analyze comments made by Zlatan Ibrahimovic that if he leaves the LA Galaxy "nobody will remember what the MLS is." McBride is upset by the comments, saying Zlatan is undermining the interests of the LA Galaxy and Major League Soccer. Nicol says McBride is being "paranoid" and that no one will remember Zlatan's comments in a couple months. Burley adds that Zlatan's character, good and bad, has risen the profile of Major League Soccer.

    • @lucabothe7152
      @lucabothe7152 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Inimay Hiro I completely agree with everything you've said but that's exactly the thing; the fans that already watch MLS will come back and watch if he leaves because they watch for MLS, not exclusively for Zlatan. But the MLS is still really small in comparison to European football, and comments like that from Zlatan (and I know it's just a classic Zlatan thing to say) just reinforce the opinions of people that don't know much about MLS and see it as inferior and not having as much quality. Let's say I've never watched MLS before and I'm quite ignorant to it, and I have the opinion that there's no talent there and it's not worth watching (which isn't true, I enjoy MLS), if I go and hear a huge football icon like Zlatan saying that this league is nothing without him, it kind of just inherently makes me stand by my opinion even more. And I know he did that with the world cup, and with PSG, and Barca and it's this whole Zlatan trend, but you really can't compare MLS to International level football, Ligue 1 and La Liga just because their histories are so much richer than that of the MLS. And with a league like MLS trying to grow to the heights of European leagues, it needs a little bit more respect to encourage people to put some time into at least trying to enjoy it or at least get a better feel for what it's like

    • @inimayhiro7758

      J Money The truth always hurts my friend in the world we live in. You aren't allowed to say the truth or else you will get hated peoples will applaud you if you dickride things they want you to. Sad reality.
