To me the real treasure here is seeing this man's DIY tools, gadgets, and techniques. I wish these were showcased more.
9:58 It's OK little castanet, I don't like Mondays either.
Thanks, from Canada 🇨🇦. These videos are a treasure.
I have not seen a castanets before it's new to me you did a good job making it 😀✌️❤
Fantastic! Great job preserving this man's craftsmanship for posterity!
This is the peak direction of these videos so far
Yui from K-on love this instrument very much!
Amazing documentary
I loved how at the end of the video he tapped out" "shave and a haircut, two-bits."
Nhật Bản họ làm thủ công rất khéo tay. Họ tính toán làm ăn khỏi chê chỗ nào 🇯🇵👍..
Very interesting work.
Very nice 😊
What a fascinating chuck that holds the wood well enough to machine it but lets go when desired! Ingenious customized tools.
@@DVD927 I believe it is a collet chuck. It's not visible due to the machine spinning, but there is a lip that is just a bit larger than the wood. He holds the wood against it, and his left hand draws the collet back into the into the chuck which is angled. Slits in the ring with the lip allow it to squeeze as it is drawn back making it just a tiny bit smaller, but enough to provide a surprisingly strong mechanical grip. On most chucks you would attach the wood and close the chuck while the machine is off, but that takes a lot of time, this is shockingly efficient! I LOVE those old belt driven tools that are all powered off one shaft with various sized wheels acting as gears to determine how fast each belt spins. Beautiful old shop! I also like that the drill press was up on a platform by the window, giving him good light, and a view of the yard rather than having either to stand or be sat beneath the window.
very very strange noisemakers ..... can you imagine going through those repetitive motions for 60 years to make little clickers
Trabalho divino. É a ligação do Divino com o homem materialuzado no artesanato. Parabéns...
Người thợ thủ công Nhật Bản rất tuyệt vời. Đã làm đúc khuôn rất đẹp.. OK 🇯🇵👍.
Très intéressant, merci pour la vidéo!
I guess it's doing good to him, it's exercise. But yeah, he should be careful. No matter how strong you are, bones are harder to fix when you're older.
@@moroboshidan7960 Thanks for your comment. I'm in the same age group as him. I also make sure to avoid risky behaviors in my daily life.
cute casternets
Dobra robota.
Fantsstische Arbeit.
🎉❤
I sure would love to help!
I’m Japanese American and my family has always called these “kachi-kachi’s” is that correct?
real (spanish) castanets are used and look quite differently. Nevertheless, I love the workmanship and attention to detail. Also, there was quite a bit of ingeneous custom tooling.
You certainly don't see a lot of belt drive tools like that any more, especially not still being used.
I liked that his test song is "shave & a haircut, two bits"! You don't have to be musical to make beautiful musical instruments.
R you sure this called Castanets? 🤔
What is the use or point of it? Just to clap and make noise.😕😕😕😕
Not very much to do with Spanish ones... at all!
While I respect the man's crafts, some of the steps just seem unnecessarily dangerous...like the tape around the fingers step and the constantly spinning mount, for example. The blade sharpener rotor should also be counter-clockwise, or he should be standing on the other side, so debris wouldn't fly at his unprotected face...
But what do I know. Clearly he's the expert.
]]]] TIME HAS RUN OUT !! John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. Don't ignore this message !! REPENT NOW !! God the Son - JESUS came in the flesh to die for sinners. TRUST that God raised JESUS from the dead !! By FAITH accept JESUS's blood alone as payment for your sins unto Salvation, to escape what's about to happen !! Don't say you were not warned !! ONLY true believers in JESUS will be suddenly taken. THEN comes 7 horrific years of God's JUDGEMENT, poured out on the world. I pray that the LORD will open your eyes and heart to the GOSPEL.
