Not only impressed with your workmanship but also your lack of ego, most people wouldn’t say they were copying another shop let alone mention Mike Bellos by name, hats off to you.
I’m nothing more than mediocre at best, But thank you. We all learn from someone. No reason not to acknowledge someone’s efforts. That’s the best thing about this platform, you can learn anything.

Man, you inspire a few more with every one of your well thought out vids. Thankyou for the extra work. Nice job on this chop but then practice makes perfect. 👊😎👍.
I came across your site a few weeks ago and love its content Your mechanical and fabrication abilities are very impressive But the greatest thing is the GREAT sense of humor you have Please keep up what your doing and don’t change
You hit that nail perfect on the head, when you spoke about engineering back then and that they cared, hence everything now is junk. Brother, I couldn’t agree more everything is made breakdown, made so you can’t fix it as a consumer and the list goes on and on, I would much rather live with primitive than what we have now.
Almost a sin to cut the top on a car that nice. I’ve seen you do a lot of chops and from what I’ve seen you are very experienced in doing this. I’m curious to know how many you have done. I can see someone committing to chop their own car but chopping someone else’s requires a lot of self confidence. Good job👍
I believe this is number 8 But it’s not necessarily the amount it the understanding of what is going to happen You definitely learn how not to do something very quickly. With resources like TH-cam Instagram and the H.A.M.B nobody really has an excuse not to know how to do something.
I love my lil air saw i use it daily tip on the hack saw blade you can take your snaps and cut it down the middle for curved cuts full width blade works great for the cut and butt
Nice chop, did you talk to Mike Bellos at the GNRS , thanks for explaining where and why you chose the places for the cuts, for me the ‘36 Ford is one of the complicated chops, I’ve done 3, but I was much younger then! Thanks for Seal Beach footage!

Thank you. No the magazine drawings were not helpful. More of a joke I guess. It’s really just over thinking. You can’t plan enough and work slow. The more you plan the better it goes together
Отлично развитое пространственное мышление,видимо в школе по геометрии у вас была высшая оценка. У меня такая же проблема с носками,как у вас с рабочими перчатками!)))
Speaking of fiberglass 1932 3W coupe hot rods I just traded my Wescott (fiberglass) ‘32 3W coupe (painted/running/driving) straight across for a 1955 Chevy Nomad (NOT running/driving) project car. The wagon is a tank compared to my coupe.
@@Theoldironworkshop Mr. B. Here ! As much as kills me , I agree some how so many chops out there ! And so few convertibles ! My hat 🎩 is off to you for some fine work ! 👍👍👍👍
Why is it going to the junkyard? It's already getting welded back together and will be what the owner likes just because it's not what you want doesn't mean it's junk. Go out to your garage and build yours how you see fit thats the great thing about classic cars you can make it how you want
So why. The owners are shorter than you, cause you can not enjoy driving it that way .The car is trailer Queen what a waste. Seating in a garage not driven . You do nice work
Actually, the owner of the car is quite active and driving. I’m sure the seat is going to have to be modified for the lower roof. But it’s a driver. My 36 roadster was chopped 4 inches and I drove it every day for 2 years Thank you

Thanks 👍 as always she says hi
Picasso's not renown for his neatness! This is art, in my book. Great work!
Thanks.
Thanks for explaining everything in detail. Love your show.
Thanks you. Hopefully it helpful
So on a chop like this what does the customer do about from windshield glass and door glass etc? I assume they need to get new custom glass made?
It’s all flat glass. So we will just recut it to fit.
Why why iam crying ,its your build ill will respect your decision 😊😊😊

I appreciate that! And true
I lol'd at the shoutout to Bellos followed immediately by a sticker that says "i dont care how they do it in california"

Nice video from Texas to Pomona and back with a great start to a serious lowering of the lid!!
Thank you. Cali is always nice
This one s a honey but I can't get enough of big mabel
I know. She’s calling for me. But I need to pay for her so I got to squeeze in customer cars
Thank you
Your welcome. Hopefully you can get something useful out of it.

The blanket is why the seat's still nice 🙃
Probably helps
wait! i thought i was in love with you! lol xo
Hmm
It's awesome to watch you do this 👍 great job, best to you and yours
Thanks, you too!
Good shout out to giving credit to Bello's Kustoms for inspiration. I dig both his work and yours.
Much appreciated. Mikes got some talent he deserves some props.
I'm up in Dallas. Might have to do a meet and greet with you one day. Lovin' the car videos.
Been a subscriber since the early days of your channel
Well thank you. I do get around a lot. So one day. Thanks
Nice work clean car to start with
It sure is
Well thought out. Can't wait for part two.
Hopefully soon. I need to get some work on the hearse.
Another great video!
Thanks again!
I hear some Hank III. Hell yes.
Heck yeah. Hank the sh!t

I didn't. I seen him but never got a chance to talk to him. Seal is pretty much my adopted home town.
Gracias por el detalle de las explicaciones !! Saludos desde Argentina !!

Beautiful car.
I am nervous watching you
It is a nice seat but who put that blanket on it
It’s only the beginning. Car will get repainted at some point
Replacing the windshield in my dads 37 was a pain. The worst was finding a working opening mechanism.
Yes I think they all freeze up
Is this an old video? Where's the lift?
I rolled it into the driveway. It has wheels
@Theoldironworkshop that's awesome brother. Love the content. I'm looking for part two now.
I wondered why you didn’t have it anchored.

Looks like the same car that Humphrey Bogart and Ida Lupino drove in High Sierra movie in 1941.
Wow. That’s going way back. Humphrey. That’s a name we need to bring back

Heck yeah it is. I sold my 36 roaster for a 50 merc. Different world
Mr. B. Here ! 😎👀👍. Am a sum this is a customer’s car who has ask to chop the roof ? 😢😭😢😭😢😭
Yes. I would make it a convertible.

That is just daring as fuck
Or just no common sense
like 381 !
Thank you! Cheers!
That wedge cut under the window to close the weld gaps is a great trick!
Yes. Better gaps make better welds
Sad. But at least the Hearse remains unchopped
Yeah that would look a little weird
Looks like spray on polyester filler
That’s what it smells like
Nooooo
actually a very nice mostly original car. Why are you f**king it up?
It’s a very nice car.
>>a very nice mostly original car.
Umm…does your wife know you’re doing this ?
Yes. She needs some spending money for her Hearse.
Another ruined car 😢. That being said nothing against the skill of this guy and his workmanship.
Well, no offense taken, and I appreciate your opinion. But to each his own.
Never liked the look of these designs.
What about it?
Yeah, was fun in the 50s but those cars are so special today. Next stop junkyard. Sad

They are all headed to the scrapyard by our grandchildren at some point. Nothing lasts forever

Please stop ruining these old cars. It should not be legal to augment these roof lines
The name of the show is (How to ruin a perfectly good car)
