I've been wanting to upgrade to what you show here for a while now. Good video. One commentor mentioned clean up time but the diameter difference between the handy-homemaker 9 inch rollers and the roller you showcase here have approximately the same surface area but the 9 inch is usually used with a thicker nap...clean up time for that is greater. What is your opinion on the durability of the frame?
I've used it four times now (4 different days) and it's held up pretty well. Obviously gets covered in paint splatter but so far I haven't had a problem cleaning it or using it again.
I'm going to go right to the source: www.purdy.com/en/painting-resources/painting-faqs/how-to-choose-a-roller-cover Yes! A 1/2 nap roll would be perfect for a semi-gloss paint.
Agreed! I didn't think about it initially but when I used them again I realized a splatter guard would be helpful. I fiddled around with making a splatter guard out of cardboard and aluminum foil with very limited success 😞
i dont think it does myself you have to factor in clean up time the extra water you use to clean the massive scuttles you need leaving less room in your van you can't get so close to corners were yourve cut it so normally you need 4 inch roller on the go too and a lot section of walls are to small for it really only good for flat walls its hard to get hold of 20 inch steel scuttles only plastic so you can't burn them out to clean them easily so you then have to use expensive scuttle liners
Cleaning up a larger tray was a negligible time difference in my experience. I used a plastic tray that cleaned out really well with a little water from the hose. Being able to hit double the wall space with each pass made a huge difference in my paint job. I cut in the corners with a small brush and 3" roller anyway, so this didn't really affect my edges and corners.
Great video and great information

Bom dia, poderias me informar onde eu acho rolo para esse garfo de pintura?
I was able to find the rollers on Amazon and in my local hardware store. You'll want to look for or search for rollers that are 12 to 18 inches long.

Would the 1/2” nap be ok for semi gloss wall paint?
