I think Jamie should be the lead man on Sunday broadcast. He is just natural and honest and that is hard to find.
And dale isnt?
@@Jackiboi961 I think he was refuring to fox since thats who jamie works for
Yep. Ditch that clown Bowyer…
“Natural and honest”
I think I know what you mean, but I think it’s more accurate to use the word, “real.”
That’s not a diss or comparison with Dale either- they are just different people and both excellent.
And doesn't have adhd to where it makes watching the races on fox
I got to meet Jamie at Chicagoland because I won a Gearwrench tools competition. It was awesome. Jamie was so nice, and down to earth. He answered all our questions, and when we ran out of those he just stayed and talked with us. I actually felt bad for him, because he had to go put on his race gear and get in the car like a half hour later. How you shift from chiiling to racing in that amount of time is beyond me. It's great to see him on Race Hub. He's an excellent ambassador for the sport.
Dale Jr got to reminisce while Jamie was talking races. They were both racing at the same time.
But now they both are awesome at commentating.
Great video series.
Jamie is good for the sport still. Hopefully he has a good, long career!
Jaime is 100% right when he say you got to have friends to win at a 'plate' race track.
An interesting view. While many just say Kurt Busch was fired from Roush. When the Ku Busch contract was signed with Penske by the time Roush suspended Ku Busch for his final Roush race
We love Jamie! Put him in the broadcast booth on Sundays!!
I could listen to these guys chat..... FOR HOURS...... dang, this is good stuff!!
Man I miss this guy he is such an upstanding driver class act we are missing in the sport. My guy Michael McDowell is a lot like him not super excitable but terribly talented. Jamie, I enjoyed the ride but miss you
Jamie Mac is and always has been a class act. I met him a bunch of times during the off season when I worked at Roush.
Really interesting to learn about how Ganassi was making so much downforce in the wind tunnel. I do remember the 42 car being quite stable and grounded on the bigger tracks like Fontana and Michigan back then.
From what I remember the dodge bodies were a bit more draggy. The evernham, Penske, ganasi were all really good at 1.5 and 2 mile ovals. They werent that good in the superspeedways and short tracks.
And these were pre-claw template and pre-laser inspection cars. They had common templates but you could bend a lot of the car and its body to move the air how you needed it.
The snout nosed Charger body was the extreme of this, but the aero balance was off and they ended up reverting to a rounder design.
Those were fun times. I don’t think I enjoyed the cars look as much until the last phase of the previous gen and the current gen.
Wow. These Jamie macmurry interivews are so so good. Thank you thank you
Jamie McMurray needs a long term broadcasting contract PRONTO!! This guy is the future of NASCAR broadcasting and I hope someone realizes it soon! Hell, I'd even start watching again!!
Wow Jamie is a great guest
I wanted Jamie in the #2 car.
To me that would have been a perfect fit.
He was driving for Rusty in the Busch series as he stated, but also..
He was dating Rusty’s daughter at the time.
I know that the later half of my statement might not have anything g to do with him joining Penske, but it just seemed like it would have fit.
And when he was driving the #42 Texaco car, they were driving dodge’s.
And Penske was driving Dodge’s as well.
So from a manufacturing standpoint, he would have already been in fold.
IMHO, Roush, should have never happened.
I just felt so bad for him, because he just felt like he was outta place over there.
He did make some career long teammates a roush. Biffle pushed him to his Daytona 500 win. I think he learned a lot from those guys that he used at his second stint at ganassi.
@@beausmith08not to mention had two more wins in his 2010 season.
Jamie probably would have faired better at Penske. At Roush he was stuck playing 4th fiddle to Edwards, Biffle and Kenseth.
I remember jamie racing at lakeside and I-70 speedway back in the 90's. I remember having lunch with him at the coo coo's nest. What a wonderful guy. Miss you bud.
Great interview with Jamie Mac!!
Way way more interesting then I ever though this one would be!
That’s funny in my head.
Jamie is and has always been a high class actor in racing like Mark Martin, Rusty, Jimmy Johnson; just polite, calm, respectful- but aggressive.
Everybody is crowing about “how good the racing is” but I’m not seeing it- to many whiny pants. That’s part of what makes McDowell so appealing- just a positive, happy competitor.
Jamie is just that kind of person.
Jamie is such a good guy.
There is nothing better to make friends than shared experiences, especially in success but trauma as well.
Good interview with Jamie,
I’d like to see Carl Edwards on here.👍🏽
Really enjoyed these interview clips with Jamie. Good stuff.
Jamie you have always come across sincere and real. That could be why you would get the winning push. Your TY's be heart felt
Dale, Kurt, Jamie and Elliot should have a show where they just talk about history and current events. Call it Fast Times.
Very cool interview dale!!
My "Memory" of Jamie McMurray is I snuck into the garage when they were testing at Phoenix. I was looking to get Rusty Wallace's autograph and he was talking with McMurray about the session. Both of them were cool with me even though it was obvious I didn't belong there.
Enjoy the interview
Seems a genuine dude, best of luck
Thanks for turning up volume.
This is so AWESOME!!! LOVE YOUR PODCASTS DALE JR, BEST PODCAST ON ANY PLATFORM 👍😁💞🤗💞🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🏁🏆🏁
I’ve never met Chip Ganassi but I’m sure I’d like him. Another excellent conversation! More Jaime Mc please!
GREAT Content
Instead of Clint and Kevin in the Fox booth it should be Jamie and Kevin.
Yes!
5:39 -5:47 Now we know why Casey Mears ended up in the 42 car for '06.
Jamie was so good at the plate tracks. There was a point in time in the mid-late 2000s when the 42 and 26 was always running within range of the lead at Daytona and Talladega. 2005 especially at Talladega, he was in the top 5 almost for the entirety of the race.
Duraflame!
Searched forever for that dienaar win. Got it not too long again. Big Jamie Mac fan.
Also find it funny that the Kurt/Chip/Jamie story went pretty full circle since Kurt replaced Jamie in 2019.
I believe the story 100%. Penske, Ganassai, etc. are the pinnacle-peak of motorsport businessmen.
DID U CHANGED THE MICROPHONE ?????? AUDIO SOUNDS MUCH MUCH BETTER !!!!!! A LOT LOUDER AND CLEAR !!!!!!! I WAS PLANNING TO COMPLAIN TO U GUYS ........
Damn. Jamie should've gone to Penske
I really liked the mid 90's / early 2000 cup era.
Some of the ballsiest moves I've ever seen made on the race track were made by Jamie McMurray. I was disappointed to see him leave / retire from driving. But all of you are right, he needs to be given a full time lead broadcasting gig. Rick Allen doesn't cut it, in my opinion. Give that job to Jamie.
Some of these gyes are just good dudes 🏁🏁🏁
When he talks about the people who were calling him around 2005 and mentions Joe Gibbs - just imagine how different the sport would be. Instead of JJ Yeley going to the 18 in 2006 and flopping until Kyle Busch gets hired to replace him in 2008, if Jamie goes to Gibbs in the 18 that probably never happens? Jamie in the 18 wouldve been on par with the 20 and 11, which were both winning cars. Joe Gibbs would no longer have a need to grab Kyle Busch for 2008. Who knows where Busch goes from there, and things would look so different.
It's also crazy that Jamie never got a win in the 42, because he was genuinely really quick and they were in the battle to win most weeks. He absolutely got robbed at Rockingham in 2004.
Unfortunately I think McMurray would’ve performed the same as Yeley.
At the time, Gibbs operated their cars independently. Interstate Batteries signed a deal that was considered below average with Gibbs in 2000 for 8 years till 2007. However, sponsorship rates blew up and soon the 18 car was essentially working with a backmarkers salary towards the mid 2000s.
Even Labonte finished like 24th the year before Yeley joined. In 2008, Gibbs signed Mars on and the rest was history.
Edit: McMurray probably would have run a little better than Yeley but the car would have limited him heavily
You should see if barney visor would come on the show
Can you get iRacing to have an Nis (fixed and open) Cars Tourn (12 weeks) 4 seasons a year - 75 to 125 laps
I remember mike joy in 2005ish saying that the garage had a chassis dyno and the big teams were testing Daytona 500 cars and the Finches 09 had like 35 more than anyone, so how did a CGR car have 90 less?!?
In those days, the small teams could show speed, mainly because a lot of them were using older motors that were proven, but deemed obsolete from the big boys while the big boys were testing out new stuff. But by the time Speedweeks rolled around, all the bugs were worked out of the new stuff and the small guys werent as impressive. Morgan Shepherd in 2005 also showed crazy speed in testing
Jamie is so cool
Watching this video what comes to mind is how different Jr & Jamie appear to think differently about the approach to racing, what I mean by that is Jr comes across as very studious about the technical side of driving where Jamie comes across as much of it has to do with relationships between other drivers?
McMurray could have avoided a giant mess if he had just stayed with Ganassi in 2005.
Jamie was my driver after Rusty Retired. I wish they would have gotten into why the roush years were such a struggle.
They did in another video, Roush was just a dbag
Very interesting !
I remember the rumors of Jamie going to the 2. I wish he would’ve.
This is exactly how nascar needs to be 90 less HP but 30% more down force. Let the teams be creative. Put a spending cap on the season so the big teams don’t run away with spending and let the brightest minds shine. Next Gen spec cars will be the death of nascar.
Jamie should have called Alex Palou and told him not to test Ganassi. It would have saved a lot of drama.
I remember when he won filling in for Sterling Marlin
Man I hated Jamie when he raced.... Not sure why? But I have enjoyed these videos more than any of the others I have watched on DM. Jamie is such a good dude.
If they ever do a Todd Chrisly biography ? Sign him up
Now that is FUNNY!!!!!!😂
It’s time suspend those mics from the ceiling. They’re picking up all those banging noises.
Man I have what I thought was top quality, apparently NOT. CAUSE I CAN'T HEAR IT.
Dear Junebug , Mike Davis & company... Forgive my comment for being off topic;
Dale Jr download is probably one of the greatest things on TH-cam/social media. I really hope Junior knows & understands how important his download shindig is to all of us not to mention im probably the biggest Mike Davis fan there is vuz the dude aint afraid to ask _those_ questions. I know theres more peeps to the Dirty Mo than meets the eye so i want to give everyone a heartfelt fiat bump cuz yall are awesome.
P.s. it seems justvlike yesterday i saw Jamie Mac winning in the 40 car @ charlotte.
Someone please show this video to ALL 2024 cup drivers and show them about being likable.
If we get Rockingham back Jamie is a must have start
I agree 💯 MILLION PERCENT 👍😁🏁🏆🏁
Rockingham will come back when a 1/2 dozen Hotels are built close by.
Jamies a good dude
Like to hear Jamie talk about being a team-mate of Kyle Larson. Before Kyle became a Superstar
Did he talk about being at Roush?
put Jamie and kurt together in the booth
Looking back 20 years ago if. I was Jamie McMurray shows would sign with Ganassi for another couple year's then took deal with Penske after 05 season since Rusty Wallace going retired I've read bad things about Roush Racing after 06 NASCAR season.
can you guys get Kurt bk on for one plz
There is a reason that he was called Cheap Ganassi
He doesn't seem to care a great deal for Kurt Busch, or am I reading him wrong?
What does Dales hat say?
Snowman's trucking company
I wish I was a racecar driver. It was my dream . 😢 Money was the problem. I didn't have it . I could drive the hell out of a car . All I needed was one shot . Never got it.
Kurt Busch is a nut job. No other way to describe him. His personal life reflects this perfectly as well. That being said he was a pretty damn good driver. Jamie is a Mark Martin on too nice steroids. Love him to death but nice guys finish last.
Yes NBC needs to get the high pitched whiney voices of Latarte dale jr and Burton. Put Kurt Busch
Stewart and Jamie Mac in.
Thanks for mentioning the high pitched nasally voices of the nbc guys. I thought I was the only one annoyed by it. Honestly, more often than not, I couldn’t even tell you who is talking.
👍🏽🇺🇸👍🏽
Chip sure did fire Larson fast. That was the biggest mistake of his racing program. Kinda glad Larson got the hell out of there
Except you're wrong because McDonald's and Credit One fired him, and the car would've been blank with no funding
Penske, Gibb's, or Hendrick were going to be able to pay for Larson's come back tour
Haas and HMS are really the only teams that could self sponsor. I mean JGR lost Kyle Busch for sponsorship issues, they wouldn't take Larson.
@@tnwhiskey68Toyota found jgr
MacDonald's now has a true champion Bubba 😂😂😂😂😂.
Jamie is the driver nobody wants to have. Lmao Zero loyalty.
what a mess hihi😅
