But it shows we Australians would rather have Brits working here, at least we can understand you guys.
And yes, housing is expensive in the major cities, but our wages, and cost of living is commensurate to the cost of living in the UK.

It's silly to say Australia is pinching people, so why elaborate except to say it is longstanding Australian policy to encourage people with skills in demand at the time. The points-based system and state incentive schemes aren't discriminatory even though English language proficiency is required, thus a help to people who speak English as a first or second language throughout the world. The Australian success in stopping criminal traffickers and other illegal entrants surely stopped useless and undesirable people from settling there. The historic 'White Australia' policy upheld the highest standards of living for working Australians, thus heralding egalitarianism, and probably helping Australia achieve the highest per-person wealth in the world today.

I'm an ozzie and that is absolute Bullshit. We used to give the POMS what for, a bit of Aussie Jibe for fun, But People from the UK including Irish, welsh and Scots are mainly our ancestral roots - we are related. If push comes to shove we will fight with Poms at the drop of a hat! But you Poms must be cautious , this place is now expensive,
Housing is through the roof and in short supply. Food and general needs are going up gradually and this place is practically a NANY state - cameras everywhere on the roads and in suburbs, and long lists of laws you can't do this, and you can't do that.
Summers are getting hotter like a fricken oven some days, and you will be impressed with our freezing bloody winters!
Your skill set needs to be good to have a good chance at getting the job you want. You are advised to check it out and preferably get one lined up before leaving will make it easier.
If multiculturalism is what you are escaping from, I hate to disappoint, this is the worst place in the world for that, and you will be jumping from the frypan into the fire. We do have areas that will remind you of the UK, if you dream a bit.
If you can get around all this then this place is for you, Know that we do generally love the POM, and would prefer them over many other countries, mainly because we share the similar beliefs, language, brotherhood and lifestyle.

BEWARE!!!!! The amount of rental properties available in 2023 doesn't cover anywhere near the amount
of new workers who will be searching! Second, the price of rented accommodation in Aus is
huge compared to what you will likely be paid in wages. Third, the cost of food is very high in
Aus now so factor that into your thinking too. Fourth, many of the jobs available in Aus are in the
country/rural areas where most people new to Aus will not want to live and/or work, that work
and those locations carry their own unique issues you need to know before going....you may be
500 miles from the nearest beach! Next few years are said to be El Nino weather so even hotter
and you will not be able to afford air con!
DO YOUR HOMEWORK THOROURLY BEFORE APPLYING FOR WORK IN AUSTRALIA IN 2023/24.
Check out every aspect of moving there before jumping in blind....it's a long way to come back from
if it isn't the paradise you hoped for!
Use the internet, social media to talk to as many people as possible who live there, especially those
living in the area you may be thinking of moving to.
I love Aus to death but it's like GB, it's past it's best times for overseas new residents/work visa people.
Even tho crime rates in major cities/towns has risen a lot, the one thing you can guarantee is that

all this BS hype about Australia, had a friend who went there 2 years and glad he is back, it's basically UK, with higher cost stuff, crap wooden houses, dusty roads with scorching sun, flies, and sharks in every beach. Just another UK, with more Chinese, Indians, lots of japanese cars, it's like a prison, the further possible flight anywhere would be new zealand or Singapore which is 4-5 hours flight. It's woke culture, high costs, really far away from europe or even China is like a prison. you will get sick of it if you like to travel. don't forget the huntsman spider is in every city of aus, even at 24th floor of sydney apartment. so don't get drawn to the "oh but its warmer and sunn" - I would rather go spain, italy, portugal any day.
