To me, it looked like the explosion mostly went upwards and it was the gas that really spread out. Michonne and Rick would’ve been protected by the containers from the explosion just like Thorne. The flag and water then protected them from the gas.
The whole idea of the series was not the CRM. It was Rick and Michonne's love story and return home. The CRM was never going to be the plot point that the show relied on. They wove in what would be the downfall of this branch of the military the whole season so that way you could see how they would make it out. That less than 10% of the military is actually corrupt meaning everyone freaking out about how massive this threat was is missing the picture. Only a small portion of the infantry was a danger and they (Rick and Michonne) handled that. He only killed 3,000 the small less than 10% was corrupt. The CRM still exists they just handed power over to the republic like they always were supposed too.I think along the way people missed what this story was supposed to be and thats why you may feel disappointed. I loved it and love that Andy and Danai came back to give their characters the peace they deserved.
Thank you. Too many have been writing fan fiction about the series. It was billed as an epic love story about Richonne. Yet some are talking about characters that have little to do with the plot. Also, Okafor said that less than 10% of the infantry knew about the atrocities , and they're now dead. Going forward, the CR will have oversight. Rick was so demoralized that he didn't or couldn't make that distinction. That's why he needed Michonne's input. That's why we work in teams in organizations. We find the blind spots.
@@rhetoricalmode1917 thank you!!! The show knew that obviously they couldn’t take on a military force 100,000 strong but a cancerous faction of around 2,000-3,000 confined in one location? Possible if it’s Rick and Michonne Grimes. They structured it that way on purpose and people kept getting caught up in the fan narrative they were creating themselves
You get it. I think people’s expectations of what they want to see ruin their enjoyment of what they do see. This wasn’t about some big battle against the CRM. They took out the power in the CRM and that was enough to topple it. Then they went home to their kids. To me, it was the perfect ending.
Actually, this episode is my highest scoring episode (10). I loved it. I felt like you with RJ then I thought no...he is a child, and this is the way they speak (sounding off) in real life. Little kids try to speak like grown ups and they sound like that. Then it's an awkward moment with his dad. Great job guys! I got my happy ending!!
Beale’s deal to Rick wasn’t good. It would require Judith and RJ to grow up thinking it was ok to murder innocent people ( including kids), just to steal their resources.
Michonne just scaling that tree and jumping out reminds me of both 3x6 when she jumped out the tree and killed some of the governor’s men and 3x12 when she quickly got up on Morgan’s roof. 😂
👍🏽You were🔥I like when you naturally stopped peddling when Rick pulled the grenade pin and automatically started peddling again when he was okay😅 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️It was worth the long wait, brilliantly written the $13m? per episode well on production and awesome acting Danai 👏and Andrew 👏 just a fabulous ending seeing a family reunited 😂
She was realizing that she had been so fearful of what anyone would think otherwise if she deterred from that in the same way that Rick was earlier on. On her deathbed did she come to the conclusion that she could have free will of thought and accepting that Rick to find that the CRM believed.
The writers came up with the best scenario on just how to take down the CRM. If there are only two people, how would you go about doing It? And I think that they came up with the best solution and Rick and Michonne executed the plan perfectly. I now see why Danai got the role of Okeye on Black Panther. This was a good episode and the only people disappointed were the ones who wanted more Beale. And the ones who had built up this big show down in their heads. Not understanding, that works only if you have more people with you. Rick and Michonne did it the way two people sent in to infiltrate an army would do it. My thoughts on what will happen if there is a S2. They let us know that Morgan is going to find Rick. I don't think they did that for nothing. They let us know that they take children from communities they plan to destroy, and embedded spies in every community and City across the entire US continent and the World. Is Beale's son embedded in one of the TWD communities? is he at the Commonwealth? Will he take back what they took from his father, and will Richonne's children be in danger? This was a great episode
@@merp9211 I don't think it has. It is only speculation because they made a point of Mogan saying he was going to find Rick whether he was in Alexandria or not.
I agree. I still loved it. I knew it would be a happy ending, not a sad one. I agree it was too easy for them to take everyone down so fast. I wish Throne at least would have lived and been out for revenge or something. But I guess they truly wanted to rap it up in a nice little bow. 😮💨😭
I think the fact they ran out of money is why it looks different from the earlier episodes and felt rushed. The reason Rick survived the grenade explosion was because he pulled the pin then dropped to the grown. The bodies of the walkers surrounding him absorbed the impact. That's part of the reason why sometimes in movies you see people fall on a grenade and it kills them but the impact from the explosion isn't nearly as devasting as it should have been. In regard to RJ. I agree there could or should have been more emotions but also am not sure if it was intended that way to make him awkward. The way he was holding onto Michonne for dear life and peeping around her like who's this stranger, I think that was the reason for the dryness with interacting with Rick. It's just sad though that in all the little bit of screen time this kid has had, he hasn't had more than 5 sentences. Buuutttt maybe there's a reason which could lend to your point.
I think that was a bit unfair to the actor who plays RJ. For one thing, he is a very mild mannered, sweet and laid back kid. I didn’t except him to have this huge reaction. And more importantly, he never met Rick before. He was just a story his mother and sister told him. Now, face to face, he is understandably shy and awkward with him at first.
@@KCohere33thank you!! Absolutely. Was he supposed to overreact by crying or what! He’s never met him. He’s naturally shy to meet him the first time. And yes he is a mild mannered young man
You are the only person reacting in a normal way...without non stop screaming, cursing and crying.. It seems everyone less than thrilled with the finale was hoping this was more than the 1 season. It was originally suppose to be a movie or 2 and about the conclusion of Michone and Rick finding eachother and coming home to the children. Remember RJ never met his Father...it wouldn't work as if he reconciled as a long lost Dad. He is a stranger he has been told stories to and he was always quiet.
I was scared Rick wouldn’t make it back home. Remember how they did Beth? Maggie finally found her at the hospital and TWD killed her just before the reunion. Gimple hates it when we have nice things. 🤦🏽♀️
It’s a shame they didn’t show Rick reaction to Tara, Enid, Jesus, Henry and Siddiq Deaths It’s also a shame that Rick and Michonne don’t know about Rosita, Beatrice, Laura and Alden deaths
I am not going to lie the ending was ass I wanted to see everyone reunite idfc about the children I wanna see the people I care like Carol, daryl, Negen LIKE COME ONNN.
Lol..not fc the children. The children were the MOST important, then Daryl. I think they will show up at the end of Daryl's show. Idfc about everyone else, especially Negan.
Awesome episode and season/series. I'm so happy Rick and Michonne reunited and got back to their kids.

Any guesses why Thorne suddenly realized Okafor was right? It came out of left field.
