Driving My New AMG GT R Pro for the FIRST TIME!

- It's finally time to collect my new AMG GT R Pro and take it for the first drive! After getting full PPF and the new Piano Black stripes, let's collect the beast from Topaz Detailing to take it back over to my storage... in far from ideal conditions.
Kicking off at Topaz Detailing, we are surrounded by plenty of incredible cars including a Solarbeam yellow SLS AMG Black Series and the most amazing Tailor Made Ferrari F12tdf in Azzurro Avio with blue tinted carbon - almost the same configuration as my McLaren Senna that's also now finished at Topaz.
The AMG GT R Pro came straight into Topaz from the dealer where I transported it in a trailer behind my AMG G63. Since then it has had a level 2 detail, and then full coverage paint protection film on the entirety of the exterior; from painted surfaces to carbon fibre, plus even the door sill plates. We originally removed the satin grey Pro stripes because gloss PPF over them would have given a pretty poor look due to the way gloss PPF looks after satin. As such we have a second set of the grey stripes ready and set to go, but in the mean time an idea came up to test out a new product (that is not vinyl) in Piano Black. The beauty of this is having the option to see what seems best long term and to swap them back to grey should I wish - for now it fits in also with the grescale theme and appearance of the car.
After Nabil helps pull back the cover it's time to pull out both the GT R Pro and Senna; the latter being loaded up to continue it's final stages of checks before I can collect it, and the Pro ready for my first drive back to the car storage. With endless traffic along the way, and a shocking standard of driving due to it being winter and nearly Christmas, before it's finally united with the other Shmeemobiles in the garage!

To be honest, this time of year is just shocking, the inability of so many people to drive or be decisive is appalling
Not just London, i only commute 2 .5 miles to work each morning but almost every day get cut up or see some one else get cut up at the same roundabout. I used to be a delivery driver nationwide 10 years ago and it’s disturbing how bad standards have fallen in that time.
Try driving in Paris as I did in '99 with wife and two VERY young children.
Spent 7 days there and then onto 7 days touring the Loire River Valley (pre-the immigrant issues and the Notre Dame Cathedral fire).
It was our "trip of a lifetime"!
Wonderful and great memories.
Same in Miami. Weaving in and out of traffic while going way above the speed limit in a car with all brake lights out and facetiming their nan for good measure.
same over here in germany.... people caring less what they are doing behind the wheel nowadays ..too much advanced technique

The stripes on the carbon roof are FANTASTIC! You showed them at the end and not in the Topaz showroom and wow....a subtle detail that really makes the car. Can't wait to see them in the sunlight! Another nice addition to the garage Tim. Cheers!
Absolutely love the wheels on the Pro! Last vlog at topaz when the guy was wrapping the rear bumper gave such a good close up and looked stunning! Also the hold function on the MB is great but as I found out with mine it kills the Aux battery!

I really like it and I love the v8 grumble and I can’t wait to hear it when the time comes to be driven in anger , and it might just dethrone the v8 vantage for my favorite exhaust note among your collection of cars

Yes, most people do NOT know how to drive. As you probably experienced during your time in the states, there’s a lot of knuckleheads here, too! Quite frustrating. Anyway, love the new GTR Pro. Love the piano black stripes. Very nice touch!

I saw a gtr on linked in and thought of your spec and couldn’t wait for this vid. You could probably pick up some more numbers doing a short clip referencing Harrington as you cruise the autobahn.

the factory stripes looked like a better combo for the rims...feel like turning the gunmetal grey to black on the rims would looks better.

looks very similar except it has an akrapovic exhaust system

The piano black stripe looks so much better. But why didnt the doorhandles get down in the piano black aswell? The chrome dosent seem to suit it

Beautiful car and spec and love the unique material Topaz used for the stripes! As much as I feel that black wheels are played out and not interesting...black may match better with your stripes, brakes and window tint IMO.

The LT 675 doesn´t get much love lately. Does it stay on a long term?
Yes it will stay; it had a big service over summer and has one more issue that needs to be resolved to do with the airbags. I don't fancy driving a car with a defective airbag just in case so I want that fixed first.
