This was my first time riding the Q50 and the 2024 XD40 out of MTA Bus Company including Eastchester Bus Depot. I was riding it from Co-Op City. Then, when driving on the highway and across the Whitestone bridge, the ride was so expeditious and mesmerizing.

Today, there are 235 of these XD40s in service. They will all be based out of ENY, JFK, FB, LGA, UP, ECH, and FP Depots. The Coneheads, are going to be out of every Queens depots. The new 40 ft diesels were originally going to be out of BP, CS, FR/JFK, LGA, QV, ENY, FB, FP, UP, and Castleton Depots, but ECH and Castleton Depots were no longer slated to get these. If Castleton Depot was no longer slated to get it, Yukon could’ve gotten it instead, meaning that Yukon’s fleet will be LFSs, using the 2015-16, 2019, and 2022, which will almost look like FB and FP Depots using the 2015, 2018-19, and 2021-22 XD40s. Besides that, it will almost be like seeing a Conehead on the S79 SBS, and a 2022 XD40 on the B1, as a comparison of LFSs and Xcelsiors. Not only that, if ECH was no longer slated to get it, GH and KB would have gotten it instead because that would look like seeing the diesel LFSs as 2015-16, 2019, and 2021, and LFS HEVs, almost having the same exact fleet as ENY’s fleet, but it is the Xcelsior version of these. And according to what I said, these buses could have ran out of GH, KB, BP, CS, FR/JFK, LGA, QV, ENY, FB, FP, UP, and Yukon Depots instead.
