Yes, here's how I remember it. You seeded a relatives lawn (sister?) with a mix of zoysia and fescue (?) because of shade issues, let those grasses fight it out and was impressed with the progress enough that you were going to replicate it in the farmhouse's "backyard."
Morning Doc, yes sir you did throw out some zoyia grass seed you had leftover along with some other grass seeds. I just so happened to be watching that video. By the way your property getting more beautiful by the day. You have worked really hard out there, from the first time introduced this new property to everyone. And by the way I have planted some blackjack maya II and it grows really well in the shade. Keep up the good work.
Doc - This has become my favorite channel! Enjoying the frequent updates about your lawn as you move through the growing season. Very impressive! Thanks for teaching us how to make our lawns healthy and attractive.
Been managing and building major championship pga and lpga golf courses for 25 years. Degrees from umass in turf etc. looks like tall fescue. Whenever we have an issue with bed knife digging. Topdress the heck out of the areas and speed over not slow down. I know John zimmer good guy very smart managing turf like I do. Any questions ppl. Hit me up. Great work doc
That's one of the reasons I started doing my own lawn because most lawn services just do a cookie cutter service. They spray this or that they don't know if your yard needs special attention to other problems. Good videos Doc keep them coming.
I just cut my warm season grass at 3.25 - 4.0 Inches in the summer. Once a week, even in a drought it's in great shape. I'll pass on scalping in Mississippi in the summer even with sprinklers.
Hey Doc, great video. How do you get your tru-cut to throw that far? Mine barely throws grass into the catcher or it doesn’t even throw that far… Thanks!
First. Hey Doc, that is cool that there was another turf underneath the cool season. I love how zoysia feels under my feet. I have empire zoysia. I think you did put it down and you mentioned we would see what would win! 🎖️Or maybe that was beach house.🤪
Hi Doc! Great video as always.... How do you tell the difference between St. Augustine & Zoysia? That wide blade looks like my neighbors St. Augustine. They used it because they had huge mature trees that cast a lot of shade. I had the fine blade zoysia at my last house and it was beautiful (used the lawn care guide to get it healthy & my neighbors loved the lawn).
Alright….back from scalping the yard after watching Docs video. Didn’t find any hidden Zoysia unfortunately. But i did manage to lay down some fungicide… yard is taking a humongous hit right now
Great video as always Doc... it came at the perfect time because I was getting ready to dig up your last years video to confirm that I could do a summer scalp... because I didn't do one at the beginning of the season, and it shows. After the scalp... is that a good time to through out Green Shocker and Dirt Booster?
Hey doc lawnmaster here I love the transition that your doing their I hade a feeling that you would have to put out clout common Bermuda and hybrid Bermuda . What kind of hybrid Bermuda are you putting out and I love that your using Bermuda grass turf for certain areas of your property. Keep up the hard and crazy work. From lawnmasters paradise 🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆
Highly doubt you will get Bermuda to grow in that much shade and with that much Zoysia firmly entrenched in the lawn. Much like St Augustine Zoysia is a carpet grass and will choke out Bermuda. In south Texas St Augustine and Bermuda sod is laid together and what takes is determined by what type of lawn you have.

I wish we had cool weather like you do (everything is relative). 90 degrees here is a huge cold front this time of year for us.
Always looking forward to a good lawn leveling video.
Still need a link to that hat you been wearing in the last couple of vids. The one with the blue under lining. That’s a cool hat.

I know you put out leftover Yukon Bermuda last August when you did the Fescue. 🤷♀
I reset my front Bermuda two weeks ago, and now it is back better than before.
Hey Doc, love the fence.
What about st Augustine? I was told never to do any of this stuff, scalp.
Debating doing a summer scalp but no real rain in forecast here in TX so I'll prolly keep it at an inch.
hey Doc keep those awesome & fast vids coming! love em
Thanks Doc!!

You definitely put it down. I remember. Lol
Do you guys have Kikuyu out there? It grows pretty wild here in California. We’ve embraced it and our yard is super dark green. That looks like it.
You should do an area of shade tolerant Tahoma 31 Bermuda
Hi Doc !! can I use my 20''mower to do this.?
I’m pretty sure you threw zoysia out with the bluegrass and fescue seed and said whatever takes, takes

Where do you live? Does this work in Northern Michigan?
Hey Doc, i really love your vids! Got any advice on a bermudagrass lawn that is very thin? I don't want to overseed. What's your advice?
Hey Doc, where can I find the video for mold cleaner for vinyl siding. You had used a spray that hooks to the garden hose.

@@HowTowithDoc thanks Doc.
That looks like centipede or st Augustine
Do you realize there are a lot of weeds in there also. Pretty easy to see.
that actually look like St Augustine the way the blade split off from each other
St Augustine only grows from sod so it's not that. Also has a much wider blade than the zoysia in the video.
Are you changing over all the PRG? I know you were going to try and keep one area. Has that area already thrown in the towel? 😂
That looks more like torpedo grass

Looks like tall fescue. It's not zoysia.
How do you tell the difference between crab grass and zoysia?
Zenith zoysia has a very pointy tip on the leaf blade, crab grass is more rounded, or just Google it
Hi Dreezy!
There’s no such thing as hybrid Bermuda seed
If different cultivars of Bermuda are breeded together and you get a new cultivar for Bermuda seed, what would you call it
We talk about that extensively and what there is... is seed that REPLICATES the look of hybrid. That's the theme
Thats St Augustine not zoysia sir.
Nope... Zoysia the same as the lawn at the beach house.
