The ram flute is infamously difficult to make. I think it probably is dependent on the shape to make a good result as well, but I haven't gotten hold of a ram horn to try it myself yet. The sound of the ram horn is probably one of my absolute personal favorites, it prodominant in Norwegian traditional music.
Oddly I found my sounding horn at Goodwill! It looked like a Ren Fair one.I added Runes and a copper rim and mouthpiece. Every time I blow it,my Dog Loki called to the wind also. Great channel Brother!!
With respect, sir, CA glue is Cyano-Acrylate glue, not contact adhesive. Thank you for your content. Ive had 2 horns from tsndy for about a decade now and i was either gonna make drinking horns or sounding horns. Perhaps both now. Cheers.
So I have a few questions, 1)Does the mouthpiece also affect the sound(volume & pitch) of the horn? Or is that all on the horn size? 2)Isn't it dangerous to work on horns without some respirators or something? I can't imagine inhaling horn dust is completely harmless 3)What do you think a water buffalo horn would sound like? Sorry if that's a lot I just REALLY wanna make my own HAHAHAHHA
@@northwoodskindred Honestly looking to make my own blot horn. Not sure if there is a certain way to make one. I have seen older videos explaining how to make one (Lining tye inside with bees wax or food grade linings. Though i am not sure if that is right. I am trying to make one where it is safe enough to use in blot (Since I will be using the horn to pour out offering of drink into the horns of others in the kindred I am forming).
@@DouglasLoven I love it, im sure there are probably better options now but when I had this one made, there was nothing else like it and it still performs like it did on day one.
Mine Goði, I’ve watched a lot of videos to make sounding horns. Call me bias, but this is the best and most comprehensive (not to mention fun) video I’ve seen regarding this subject. Thank you!
I played the trumpet as a child until I sustained a mouth injury. My two front teeth are crooked and can't be fixed. As a result, I haven't played since. Is it possible to fit a signaling horn with a reed instead of a traditional trumpet mouthpiece?
What are the odds of you making a sounding horn for someone? I dont have the tools but I have access to horns and would LOVE a sounding horn. I'm not far from you either. I had one I sent to a friend that never got sent back, gonna ask her about that one again.
Here is one that you can order today.

Awesome, who needs iphones and text if you have a sounding horn 📯? 😂
Thanks for the video. How do you like the Travis Wertz grinder? Semper Fi brother.

I can do that, just hit me up privately on discord and we can work out the details. I also plan on making a few for the website soon.
@@northwoodskindred will do that for sure! Thank you!
