I just made a new binnacle cover for my Cape Dory 33, following these excellent instructions. It came out perfectly. I made it to replace a cover I had made about 20 years ago, when I bought the boat. This new cover is much more tailored and better fitting. I'm very happy with it. It's my first project using Sattler (Forest Green) and while the specs indicate it will perform as well as or better than Sunbrella, I prefer the Sunbrella brand as it has a better "feel" to the fabric, and the color is a bit richer. But, Sunbrella is quite a bit more expensive than Sattler. But, excellent video - thank you!
It's always interesting watching how others fabricate canvas covers. There are many ways to make a cover for birds to poop on. LOL Warning to anyone making your pattern in the Desert SW; The strapping tape's glue DOES NOT let go of hot stainless steel. Make your patterns in the winter month or early morning hours only if you use this method.
Nice video. MUCH easier with the zipper flap as compared to the previous video using a zipper "plaque". BTW, these Japanese Wonder Clips are great. They hold hems/seams together when the basting tape tends not to stick very well and comes apart.

I'm glad you found the video helpful and that the Wonder Clips are making your sewing projects easier!
Chic.
Thank you for the compliment!
