To be honest, Brazil never won olympic gold until Rio 2016, they made it a huge priority since 2000 to win gold in the olympics, which, before the world cup, was consider as the world championships, and why Uruguay adds 2 stars for their olympic wins prior to the first world cup in 1934.

Why cant Mexico play like this in a World cup? They can be a great team, but for some reason they always do bad. Im not Mexican and i feel bad.

It's the same question we all ask ourselves when that happens.

Maybe because a lot of times other countries don't have their best players playing in the Olympics due to contracts or they don't offer them as much money or maybe another tournament is happening at the same time that has the best players. It happens a lot with other sports like with baseball and basketball. Money sometimes means more than winning a gold medal.
