- hello !! i'm christine, a freshman at uw studying business administration :)) who knew that the week that i filmed this would be the last time i could see my friends for a while :(( anyhow, this attempt of a vlog features flattering angles, speaking in hushed tones, and awkward moments because filming in public is intimidating hehe

aw thank you !! i made a lot of my friends through mutual friends actually :)) i fortunately met most of them before school started through the welcome days at campus (aka dawg daze). ppl are typically rly opened and friendly (especially at the beginning of the new school year/quarter) so they’re approachable to talk to :)). making friends can sometimes be difficult, but i like to start out with small talk and gradually over time, build connections through common interests or just by keeping conversation. it can sometimes be a little awkward at first, but that’s just a part of the process :)) a lot of ppl make friends through clubs and i feel like that’s bc ur already surrounded by a community that shares a similar interest as yours, so i rly recommend that as a good place to start !! :)) something to note tho, is that not every attempt of building a friendship will be successful and that’s completely okay !! oftentimes, we have more acquaintances than actual friends and at the end, all that matters is the quality of friends that you have and not quantity :))
UW seems like an amazing school. I have heard it is hard to get into the major you want, depending on the major. International Law is something im interested in, but idk if its one of the competitive majors. I’ve also heard about the seattle freeze, how would you recommend making friends in a very introverted environment?
i’m not sure if international law is competitive but chances are, it is 😅 i’m sure there’s more info online about it tho. as for making friends, going to events (especially the welcome week events, which is where i made most of my friends !!) and joining clubs will definitely help :))

hi !! a case competition is where your team is given a business scenario and you have to determine a solution for it, to which you then present your solution to the judges

Hi, I'm not going to UW next year or anything but when I got older I want to so I was wonder how heavy the homework is and is it fun living in dorms?
the hw load depends on what classes/professors you take and that can pertain to any college you go to :)) i actually liked living in dorms bc i had a roomie that i got along with well :)) i didn’t make any friends w ppl in my dorm tho tbh, but ik many of my friends that have !!

Laura Chikami aw thank you !! ❤️ hmm i’d say when applying, try to get into the major through direct admission, in which you would be directly admitted to the business school. in order to be considered for direct admit, you need to put business as your first choice of major on the app. because DA pretty much focuses on your stats, do your best and try to boost your gpa :)) also, ik uw isn’t requiring the sat/act for 2021 apps but if you did well on it, i’d say it would look good to submit that as well :)) hope this helps !!

hey I’m an incoming freshman at UW and hope to get business administration as my major. ik you were a DA but do you have any tips of applying into the major and what I should do in terms of classes and extracurriculars?
hmm im not sure if taking specific classes (other than prereqs) or doing certain ecs would help your application, but ik foster pays attention to a strong gpa. i’d say to try having an easy class or 2 every quarter to help boost your overall gpa and of course doing well in your prereqs bc there’s a business gpa they look at as well. you can talk to your/a foster adviser for further advice, but i’m sure there are additional sources online that can provide some insight. hopefully this helped :))

Natalie Duperre hmm it’s hard to give advice for essays but i’m sure there are good resources online to help you out !! all i can say is to try to avoid cliches and just be yourself :)) good luck and hope you can get in !!

My sister applied to University Of Washington would you recommend it she got into 10/15 colleges she applied to she got rejected by USC, University Of Chicago, Tufts, BU, and Columbia but she’s choosing between University Of Washington, UCI, UCD, UCLA, UCB, UCSB, Occidental, Syracuse, Barnard, and Sarah Lawrence College
I can’t say which college your sister should attend. It all depends on what major she is and what kind of program she’s looking for!

hello !! congrats on getting into foster :)) considering you’re DA, you need to take an english comp class, math 124, and econ 200 and 201 during your first year (if i’m remembering that correctly haha). but if you have those credits fulfilled already (whether it be through ap courses etc), it’ll be good to take ge courses your 1st quarter :)) it’s recommended that you start taking your lower division business classes at least after 1st quarter so that you can get used to college a bit before you start taking more difficult courses. hope this helps !! :))

hello !! and yes i am haha. i had an unweighted gpa of 3.8 and sat score of 1450 (superscored). i think foster primarily focuses on stats, so as long as you have a relatively good gpa you have a better chance of getting DA to foster (the website says the median gpa is 3.91 and sat score is 1410 for reference). hope this helps !! :))

sumsdiary i actually didn’t so i was kinda surprised about my admission 😅 but it doesn’t hurt to take those classes / partake in those activities if you’re interested in em !!

the acceptance rate for UW is roughly 50%, so it’s not as difficult to get into compared to some UCs
I miss UW I’m surprised I wasn’t in any of these clips I lived in elm and literally had all 8:30 am courses too

From what I’ve seen, there’re a good mix of both! But I do see Macs more

aw thank you !! and yes, i do! my friend said that uw is nice in that they offer a lot of flexibility in concentrations in psych and it’s easy to get into. however, uw isn’t known for psych and in her opinion, isn’t worth out of state (if you are) money considering you can probably find a similar psych program elsewhere for cheaper. hope that helped 😊
