In 2019 i was a daily meth, heroin, benzo user in southern California. Thats the most insane combo to be hooked on. At certain points i added barbiturates to the mix. We called meth either clear or shit. Can i get some clear? Can i get some shit? I went to detox/rehab 3 times that year. I detoxed in a facility or at home probably 5 times that year. My family was telling my fiancé to leave me. I wasn't allowed at my daughters 3rd birthday. In October i went to a rehab in south central LA and was put on buprenorphine. Ive been clean ever since, got a good job, got married, got a nice apartment with my now wife and daughter(7 years old now). I will have 4 years clean this October.

I was addicted to meth for eight months originally... I quit and was sober for about a year... got my life back on track and everything in order. bought a truck on Facebook there was a meth pipe in the glove box... I relapsed and I've been doing meth again for about a year. my life is still in order I still have my job I still have my apartment I still have my things but I'm worried about my health and I want to quit. im 21 years old.

People use meth as a coping mechanis, because most of us have childhood trauma of some kind. Its used daily to feel normal(after a while of use), and because of the large amount of dopamine release, your body can no longer be happy with a regular amount of it.

Absolutely… I did meth for 3 days once and felt like a super depressed zombie for weeks… the most insane level of depression ever imaginable. Complete lack of dopamine, nothing in the world could give you the slightest joy, thought I would never be the same. I barely feel normal now and it’s been about 2-3 months… research suggests I’ll need another 2 months to reach normal dopamine levels. It was one of the worst things I’ve ever been through… not to mention the days after I quit I felt my breathing cycle slower than normal, heart beat going fast, brain feeling fried, liver feelings overrun… holy cow I’ll never leave marijuana again.

I personally have never heard any of the slang terms he listed to describe high speed chicken feed except for crank of course. Most ppl around my way call it girl, crystal, go, dope, or mostly they call it "shit" . They even have crazy shit like gravel. That's when they cut it with crack cause why not right. The craziest thing tho is after long enough abuse of it it stops even getting you high and u gotta smoke a bowl just to go to sleep. Tell me if this makes sense do u know what they give ppl around my way to get off meth? Suboxone or methadone. I shit u not they get u strung out on a drug that is a lot harder to quit and comes with some pretty shitty withdrawal symptoms to treat meth addiction which is so much easier to come off of. You literally just sleep for a few days coming off of meth. But anyway I leave u with a joke. What's the slowest thing in the world?

She was 58. Now, my brother shows up with the same issue. He is 61. This presentation is really enlightening. It explains what I'm dealing with or cutting off contact from dealing with. I'm in recovery from weed. Took about 6 weeks to feel right. I need a copy of the slides used in this presentation. It will take 2 years of my brother being clean before he normalizes,,,IF he doesn't use again. Wow! I'm going to need a stronger sponsor to handle this or a few sponsors.

In the labyrinth of the mind, where neurons fire,
Methamphetamine dances, with a dangerous desire.
In 2019, its impact is clear,
On the fragile balance, we hold dear.
Meth and the brain, a deadly dance,
As the drug's grip tightens, in a trance.
    Neurotransmitters flood, with reckless speed,
Leaving chaos in their wake, an urgent need.
Dopamine surges, like a tidal wave,
But soon the crash comes, like a grave.
    Serotonin depleted, leaving emptiness inside,
    As methamphetamine's hold, cannot hide.
    Neurotoxicity reigns, with damage untold,
As the brain struggles, in meth's stronghold.
    Cognitive decline, and memory's plight,
In the wake of methamphetamine's flight.
So let us heed the warning, in 2019's wake,
    As methamphetamine's impact, we undertake.
For in the realm of the brain's fragile reign,
Meth's grip is a danger, we must contain.

I agree with you. It is played out to cover up our governments part of the opioid epidemic. They still say meth is the biggest problem. Um NO, fentanyl is. The fact they shift the blame tells me they're still not willing to take their part of the blame for millions of deaths. And if there is any meth overdoses it's because its cut with fentanyl. Just like the Oxycodone, the heroin and now the fentanyl- very few get help because a person has to be in jail to get a bed date for a state funded treatment center. Our jail is a revolving door for people smoking the "blues". In one day and out the next. Nobody is getting help and addicts are dying. Now that's a big deal-!!

1:06:55 thanks for your informative, concise and entertaining you presentation. Quick question-
You say to weene off would better benefit someone rather than quitting cold turkey.
How long do you suppose would best benefit someone to weene off for? A week? Two weeks? Two months?
And do you have any recommendations on how to implement the weene? Such as, oh idk, perhaps the subject has a daily allowance of 5 grams. Every two days remove half a gram. So in 20 days subject is at zero and needs to start catching up on sleep..?
I've been wanting to ask this question for quite sometime. I hope you have the time to consider it and write back.
I'm confident your response will benefit many people with a sort of formula that'll help encourage them as they navigate out of a dark chapter.. if that makes sense. Haha.
Thanks again for your hard work.

The effects that Meth has on people is unique to each individual.
Because of this, It’s going to affect
Each of us differently. As well as how well we took cqre of ourselves (or Not) while we were using.
I use to combat my bad choices with daily Vitamins, Green Smoothies, Healthy Food, Excersise, and i made sure i slept every single night.
5-6 years into using, I was as Breautiful asbefore i started using. After that it was still an extremely sloe process of aging or not looking as good as i did.
What did me in was when my Sister ruined my reputation and Far and wide.
Instead of just comkng to me and saying hey whats going on ?
I heard ...(...) She blasted the information to anyone who would listen and added all kinds of fabricqted stories. People shunned me. I was persecuted. My entire life was turned upside down and inside out. And it hasnt stopped. I stopped taking vitamins, stopped my dance classes, stooped taking care of myself completely because of what my sister did to me. Not bc i was using the drug.
I was using but i wasnt always hoing to use.
When she did what she did to me...that changed how i used.
It changed the reason i reaced for the pipe. It then beecame something i needed to drown out this world i exist in and cope with the stress.

i have been smoking for a year. when i started, someone older than me told me just snort it don’t start smoking it or you won’t want to snort it anymore. he was right, when i just snorted it, it was just a weekend thing. started smoking it and been everyday for a year now. i have a natural dopamine deficit is why i started, just lil bit here and there. first couple times going out at night we’re great. mind was relaxed and i was focused. a month or 2 after that, i was on the “stay up late so just a little line in the morning so i can get through work day” cycle

      Wrong

  • @Nope_Nope
    @Nope_Nope ปีที่แล้ว +24

    Correction.
I was an iv drug user of Meth for 12 years. And i shot up every day for atleast 6 months during those 12 years.
    For me personally,
Injecting creates an immediate intense Rush of Euforia followed by strong sexual desire and the euforia continues on in a more managable level, slowly decreasing in intensity over 20-40 min- or so .
That will vary depending on the Chemistry of the particular Dope you use.
The experience of Shooting meth will be experienced differently by each person because our bodies are all different. Then factor in the Chemistry of the Dope itself, and how much you shoot will also determine your experience. If you shoot more than what the right amount is for your body, after the initial rush you will just go to sleep.
Snorting it, which i did the first year or two, produced a manageble Euforia and strong sexual feelings for me. It made me very alert, and ready to get moving, and get sh** done.
If you do too much it makes you rush around from one thing to another never really completing any one project. Or possibly get too focused in on details and losing yourself in it.
Oral injestion, (for me), was boring and a waste of good drugs. It took about 20 min to feel anything at all and even then I could not tell if it was working or if i’d not taken enough.
Ive taken it orally atleast 20-30 times hoping for a different experience but it was always the same.
And lastly, Smoking it causes a fuzzy, dreamy, relaxed feeling and depending on who your with, it can also have a managable to unmanagable Sexual feeling.
It also causes people to become Complacent towards things of importantance in life.
Which as a result causes peoples lives to crumble around them as they complacently watch from the side lines.

Hoi. Actually, i WAS doing GREAT.
But there have been some Family Members with Evil intent that continue to harrass me and start rumors about me to get other family members to Hate me.
I left all this behind and was doing so well. But i came back to care for a Family member who almost died.
      Big Mistake...
It was too late by the time i realized i had just come back to my life full of Narcissists, a sociopath and a few Well Meaning Enablers.
It took a few months for me to finally get pulled into their tangled mess of toxic “Yuck”.
      That was 3 years ago.
I am NOT doing well. 😑
      (thanks for asking) 😕
Strange how because of my demented family members, I feel more at ease talking to a complete stranger than i do to the people ive been closest to my entire life. 😅
Over the last 3 years i got sucked deep into Meth again. But a lot has been revealed that needed to be during this time.
And there were some Healings that took place that might not have otherwise.
So these 3 years haven’t been a complete loss.
And a particular mission completed, other than to nurse my sick relative back to health. (...just to have him treat me horribly again🤦🏻‍♀️)
I have decided to leave once again for the final time.
I am going to quietly pack my belongings and stick them in storage, while slowly weaning myself off Meth
and then the next drama that happens... I will just get in my car and Drive away... *Big Sigh.
Yeah so although i am using again,
i do in deed have a plan to get away from the toxic and evil people once and for all!
      Thanks again checking on me.
      I so appreciate it. 😊
      Ps.
A lot of non drug users think that all “User’s” are just like the Stereo types that we see plastered all over you tube or on the streets of San Fransisco or Philly and everywhere in between😳.
But that’s just NOT the case at all.
      There are functioning attics.
For a lot of Meth Users it started with the desire getting “F...... UP” , ot because of the initial sensations there is a great number of peopld who try it just to experience that aspect of it .
And although that experience is real and true.
That aspect of it dies over time. And instead you find your self uding it just to wake up in the morning or to keep going in the afternoon.
And that is how it continues until you quit
For me and i’m sure there are others as well...Using Meth was about needing some energy after being continually Traumatized and
Depleted of any giddy up in my Get up...😵‍💫
It was also just as much about killing the pain and the memories and escaping this reality that I didn't feel I could escape from.
It helped me be a functioning human in the depths of psychological and emotional abuse. And the side effects were just a perk. Until they
      Were no longer.
Thats all i Got and its a lot! 😂

These are absolute lies and fallacies regarding the minds of men; but I never would expect the man with a carnal understanding to understand what's spiritual. That mind, wherein you hold memories, is the real you. That which influences the mind to do good is good, and that which influences the mind to do evil is evil. And the mind (the real you) will be affected by the things done in the body, whether it is good or whether it's is evil. Your brain is in communication with your members only, as a nervous system; thoughts and imaginations have nothing at all to do with the brain other than it reaping consequences for ones actions done in the body. For instance; when one takes drugs, the mind may be affected because it is a consequence for what was done in the body, things that should not have been done. Such as the affects of "being high", that is a consequence for doing what should not be done in your body.

My experence the use off meth, my brain at times would have the same struggle as alzheimers deases , we're eventually you forget how to breath, once the high.weres off I mean, so I don't won't others to experence it,, once the addiction takes hold it is unpredictable were a normal sitting off useing in a moment crosses the line were it is to late, the deases is secretly there. The dopamine weres off suddenly Eventually you would forget to know how to breath, is the horrible fight you'd experience.wile awake and conscience , i personaly think you can be normal one day and experence alsymis deasese in one day . I kn9w why we do it, the high or addiction won't change anything, the high makes you feel like there is someone with you , a sexual feeling but at times the comedown leaves you satisfied as we all are lonely.we will have no will , even i couldn't scare myself off off the high that we feel we all die, but like you I am putting myself in a state off anxiety, we're my information won't help the dopamine fix, I should not put a person in a state off panic, but who knows the truth with why not many people die from meth, bexuase it's not the meth but the deasese. Yeah... going to the doctors anymore usually leans me toward being more curious of whatever his or her diagnoses might be. I get they're doing the best that they can... but efficacy of feeling good about my health doesn't come from a guy that looks like he grabbed his pants off the floor and smells like stinging diarrhea.
Even more so with nurses and admin. I guess pharmaceutic-addicted, parasite infested, obese people need to work too... might as well be in the health industry.... besides, "it's ok, those issues only adversely effect the most elder and vulnerable with preexisting conditions"... "nothing to see here".
Even at the surface; visiting someone at a hospital usually gives me the opportunity to sneak a peek into the hospital staffs refrigerator... I like doing that as a reminder that they can't give 2 deuces about my health when they don't give a single deuce about their own.
BTW; Orange Crush and Dr. Pepper always seem to be the BigPharma's big winners.
Gee... I don't know... you think I'm overly obsessing on the mindset of the administrators of my health?
If so, then you probably don't want to know my opinion about those 2 snakes slithering up that pole.
