To avoid dangerous splatter always shut off the beater mixer before you take the it out of the liquid and never insert it into the liquid while it's already running and always run it at the lowest speed and use the tallest, heaviest, and most stable bowl you can get away with to block any splatter and avoid spillage. Pretty simple. To lessen air bubbles use only one of the beaters instead of two.

Thank you for this video 🙂 I've been making soap for many years, not a lot of soap as other people, but still quiet a bit, because I don't sale soap but from the beginning I learned that a stick blender or by hand would be the best solution because a hand mixer would put a lot of tiny air bubbles in the soap, which is nothing wrong but will make the soap float, so I never use a hand mixer ... True or false? 😀 BTW my stick blender I had in the house back then (about 13years ago) was a stick blender purchased at a garage sale for $2 and is still in use today 😀 so I think for soap equipment garage sale and second hand stores are a good option 😀 Happy soaping! ❤

Yes… absolutely!! Thrifting is a great way to get a stick blender. There is no need to purchase a new one at first.
As for the hand mixer making the batch float… I have heard that as well that it may result in the bar floating. Which either way, sink or float is not the end of the world. However, this was my first batch that I used a hand mixer on, mainly just wanted to test it out, 😁 Well it did the job. As for floating, this batch did not float. So, I don’t know if my results are typical or if I would have had different results if I would have mixed to a medium to heavy trace. I may revisit this in the future to see if I get different results. So stay tuned😁
Thank you for your comment and happy soaping

Thank you so much for the information
Please how long does it take to reach trace with the hand mixer? I really want to start soap making but I don't have stick blender and it is costly here.

Thank you for your question. I will do my best to answer. This particular batch came to trace for me in about 10-12 minutes with the blender. However, this was a bit more than a light trace, as I wanted the mix to be a heavier trace for this batch. Trace, is not typically measured in time, but rather measured by when the visible traces are noticed when stirring the mixture. This can be different times for different recipes, or even climate conditions in different batches of the same recipe. Good luck with your soaping journey😁😁 Stay Rooted and Embrace the Suds 😀😀
