Robby was the face of Kansas, period! Such a fun guy to talk to on the couple occasions I had the honor to. Mixture of humor and humility and just appreciated us fans. Never be another like him.
Technically, he was the voice in live shows. He was the emcee and ringmaster. When Robby exclaimed, "Good evening! And Welcome to Kansas!!" You knew the shit was on like Donkey Kong...
This is the most "Kansas" sounding song I've heard since point of know return. Awesome
Как круто. Как будто 70 е годы Канзаса. Браво.
Thanks for the great music and the memories Robbie. Rest in peace.
I knew Rob and Cindy in Kansas back in the mid 2000'. Really wonderful, Salt of the earth people.
Thank you for everything, Robbie. RIP
I love Kansas and the violin parts played by Robby especially on the song diamonds and pearls, R.I.P., thanks for sharing.
Grazie Robbie x tutto quello che ci hai lasciato in termini musicali.... a me personalmente mi hai accompagnato x quasi 50 anni e continuerò ad ascoltare la tua voce e il tuo magico violino.... RIP my friend....
Ebbi la fortuna di vedere lui e i kansas a Stoccarda nel 1981 e a Milano nel 2005
1 of my all time favorite singer musicians I'll be missing Robbie
The Atlanta 2002 DVD live show, Robbie says "Who says you're too old to rock at 52?" He proved it could be done into your 70s. What a great musician.
My 5 year old discovered "Carry on Wayward son" and she's fascinated with this guy.
Thank you Robbie. missing you and part of my youth.
RIP Robbie- see ya “Down the Road”
I first saw Kansas in a small town where I lived at the time called Atchison Kansas - I heard there was a band from Lawrence Kansas playing at the local hall - admission was two dollars I think it was 1972 or 1973. About 10 years ago a friend of mine who knew Robby very well introduced us - we had a meal at Applebee’s in Oldsmar Florida just down the road from where he lived in Tampa.
I began to run into Robby at local concert events and on a regular basis at the local Publix grocery store. Robby left us too soon.
Atchison...birthplace of Amelia Earhart.
Hmm, I guess I don’t have to wonder anymore, who that big landscape, Kansas type sound, musical elements, structure and Kansas feel should be attributed to. Thanks for all those unique. awesome and captivating songs you provided to us, especially to me in my late teens when I started playing guitar and being a young adult. When I started writing songs.
A song I’m working on;
And you know you did a good job Joe
You really let me have it, set me straight, put me right in my place
You did a good job Joe
you really let me have it, set me straight, put me right in this place
Where l’m friends
With my neighbors
And you can only see at night
When the moon is full
We don’t ware masks
Or wonder who’s contagious
We just try to mind our own
And follow the golden rule
Your life’s like a garden
So you might as well dig it
And your world a bowl cherries
When you got no worries
I don’t know what planet
you’re living on
Or why what you see
Is so different from me
Any way you did a
Good job Joe
It should be attributed mostly to Kerry Livgren, but also to the chemistry of the Original 6. This is obviously mimicking the style that Kerry brought to Kansas with his excellent songwriting.
That was awesome!!!...we do miss our Robby, and this was a pleasure to see on his Birthday!!!❤❤
He's still with us; playing and singing for us, here and now. Through the wonderful music he was part of, he can always be around in this way.
❣
Rock In Peace Robby...🎻
I miss Robby
In Heaven now!
Kerry Livgren explained the gospel to him on many occasions. So did I. His band use to play at a pool hall rock club called Pockets every Friday and Saturday night in St.pete Florida. 1994- 1996. Steinhardt/Moon band. Hopefully Robby believed, that Christ died for his sins.
RIP, Robby
Rest in peace, Robby.
And Bruce Brown. His roadie.
I'm sorry he's gone and even more so after this. Tremendous stuff.
He's not gone, he just moved!
Love that! Exactly how I think. SO grateful to have met all my music heroes through my life 🙏🙏💯💯
Love it! Thank you for sharing!!
So fantastic 👏 I love it!
❤
😢❤😊
Takes away from the fact he's not discussing the BAND Kansas, but rather the movie!
I took it as he’s speaking of his life in general, starting with his home. Kansas has been a recurring theme in his life, not just the band.
@jpolwort - Why can’t it be more than one thing?
🎻🎶🎶👍👏😊😔
Really great song and better than any Kansas has produced in the past 25 years.
Please. The last two albums have been amazing
Robbie Died ! Of course he is not part of Kansas anymore !
Jerry Garcia called.....he wants his hair back.
And his beard...
Considering both have passed (Robby very recently), I doubt any calls are being made. Show some respect....or at least be funny.
@@fretfix1 well, I definitely respected his work over the Grateful Dead. I just thought his doo was overdone.
@@markgarin6355 I got your levity, I guess some others did not. No one would be watching this video, or commenting on this unless they respected and loved Robby's work, or Jerry's for that matter, lol.
No one, including Jerry had hair like Robbie!
Great backup singer, but liebe was definitely not for him
