Just an information for you :) Ardiae are not cousins of Pergamom because they are different civilizations. Ardiae are an Ylliric population in the nowdays Albania and Monte Negro, and the pergamom are a mix of Hellenic and Persian population in nowdays west Turkey. So totally different culture and ethnicity.

A better performance here, you can tell Apollo has been practicing. The level of micromanaging required at this level is probably a bit out of his current skill set as he tends to lose focus. You can tell he is more comfortable being the non committal support role in a 3 v 3 but props for the valiant effort and for commentating without giving anything away. These players are all bloody good. I can't even micromanage against the AI without misclicking a hundred times. Hopefully Apollo will enter another tournament and have better fortune!
Close, but no cigar. Would’ve loved to see you win this to see if you could win the attack to to make the playoffs, but props to the Ursas for pulling off a tough victory.
Very good performance for both teams. Looking forward to see how Ursas fairs in future matches.

Hard to believe the CC came in last place in Group C, especially going in with such optimism. 🤔

Ruvaak absolutely should’ve left his thureos fighting the agema gen at the end. That caused your units to start losing the fight and they immediately broke. Might’ve cost your team the battle right there.
The units that immediately broke were about to be flanked by peltasts tho

Oh my god the scorpion, Apollo cant catch a break
This channel could seriously benefit from showcasing new player battles, the competitive battles are just so predictable now, new players would really make for some entertaining battles it also is a lesson for viewers by giving apollo a chance to give feedback on gameplay. I just think it would be really beneficial for his channel after having seen other channels gain success from showing new player gameplay like in age of empires
i remember watching a new players battle with their blob of praetorian guard.. ngl that really fun to watch

Where was Gondor when the Crimson Chickens got eliminated?
The general eating infantry reminded me of the 3rd age Medieval 2 mod where elite elf units can decimate hundreds with only a token few losses.
That seemed like the best you guys have done! Great job!!
dont want to throw shade but the Ursas player soup i belived he pushed through with his general may of been a pursuit of a broken unit but not sure, what the rules on that if he did

@@Soup-ej6bu Thanks for clarifying that, i did think something like a glitch was the problem cos you aint gonna cheat in a tournament. sorry for calling you out but i dont have the game personally so i wouldnt know bugs and things. Good luck in the tournament
MOST important is you had lots of fun ! If the otther team is better you dont mind to loose if you had FUN . You joined and learned for the next tournament. We youre vieuwers had also lots of fun !

I think the Crimson Chickens did improve a lot throughout the course of the tournament. It would be nice if tournaments were a lot more common.
From day one of their practice up till now they are a completely new team, deff playoff worthy. Unlucky in the end, 2 games came down to the wire

31:58 Looks like a "decisive" push-through since the general is completely surrounded, manages to breaks a sword unit and greatly damage the spear units... Am I seeing things, is that legit?
all legit here, the gen didnt push through it just started kissing the pontic sword cuz of the hoplite wall formation, didnt go through it was still surrounded

Pontus has GREAT javs. One of my favorite factions to play on attack or defense.
I think taking your scorpion crew around back into your base was a great idea but I think you should have gone and grabbed the actual scorpion as you had a chance to do so
The fight turned in their favour at around 18:30 when you changed your lines by the gate. You moved back didn’t have another unit ready to plug the gap and they just leaked through. You got some good javelins off but they got into the courtyard area and behind your other lines then it all went downhill 😢

I didn’t realise Ardieieaeiei (no clue how to spell it) was a Hellenistic faction. I thought they were barbarian.
I'm not an expert on this game but after watching all your games I feel like you worry too much about getting perfect ranged attacks. But in the end you don't even get to use the ammo as you get killed by the enemies ranged units. It's far better to fire and kill enemies then to stand there and die waiting for the perfect shot. In my opinion. Any ways good battle! Better luck next time.

You know pergamons strength is javallins so why let them in the breach so they could use them against you? They suck outside the wall so keep them there

its like the gorilla bois did. dont just let that 1 unit break. use it to its full potential. dont just play a strategy, play the GAME and work it like a fittle.

In other matches the scorpions got about 100 kills, so an extra 70 could have made the difference
You just need to practice your micro mate. You know the mechanics of the game, but you need to be quicker. I would keep units grouped for certain areas of the battle. Helps stay more organized

Where are the pikes? Are there pikes in Rome 2? I feel like there is always at least 1 unit of pikes.

You needed to be giving an attack order to your hoplite general. They won’t kill anyone unless you press attack. Those noble hoplites are deadly and would beat any other unit in this battle handily
Many players just place their hoplites waiting for enemy charges without even shield formation and expect them to defend and kill
Apollo still doesn't know how to skirmish and how to micro manage...

Cav charge couldve been used in a better way, instead of straight charge to there death, think they couldve save the day, but still a good fight

It wasn't the scorpion it was the kolkiss general absolutely butchering your flank tanking the ammo and crushing two flanks.
The best way to keep your scorpion from moving is to fire at an area, not a specific unit. The reason they moved up was because the unit you had them shooting at ran out of their line of sight so they tried to move up to get line of sight again.
I feel a little disappointed for using your hoplite units as a Cannon fodder. Honestly I won't let those axemen to have the glimpse to throw their projectiles and giving them a hard time grinding.

I want to support you apollo, but I hate being emotionally invested when you have those silly scorpion mistakes. As a fan of the crimsons it’s rather upsetting :(. A few errors in the other matches too :(

this is insane the generals of usars was sourrounded for quite a few time and they still get so many kills make the combat even this is just ridicioulus
