Your injuries on both videos give you more cred since you're actively training! I did a year of muay thai 10 years ago and have been trying to get back to it, but my mental block is just getting to the gym! I went once recently and it went way better than expected, but it's been months and I haven't been able to work up the nerve again. Hopefully will get there this month...
Appreciate that! Luckily I don't have visible injuries too often, so had to make the most of this one when it happened lol. And I 100% feel that - so many mental blocks to deal with before and during training...but afterwards not as much! Wishing you the best on your journey 🙏
I love this!! Didn't know you made content nor did I think you were only 2 years into training! To me, a guy who's been training for over 16 years (I'm 36) and having had some amazing rounds at the FKP MMA dojo, you have legit skills! All respect!
@@RyanVentura604 thanks brother, appreciate the kind words! Always a pleasure going up against you (even though I can never stop your relentless forward pressure 😂😂)
@@gggraeme LOL Oh man, you do a fantastic job and honestly you give me a hard time every time we spar. I have to force myself to put on more pressure so I don't meet the end of your strikes.
@@dou thanks for the watch and feedback! It's mostly a hobby and kinda tricky to film training, so I don't think I can make it the focus 100% (as much as I'd like to). But def some more learnings/ videos to come as the journey continues🙏
great videos dude that first muay thai video you posted was really high quality for only being the second one on your channel. with your progress in striking i strongly suggest that you don’t neglect grappling. i know thai boxing has clich work and i think that could really help you transition into judo or jiu-jitsu. Ive been training bjj and judo for 2 years and i think grappling definitely decides more fights than striking. I would love a video of you talking about your perspective on grappling, cross training, or just mma as a whole.
@@trevordowning4055 really appreciate the kind words! I agree, grappling is super important (especially for self defence) but I haven't reached the point yet of wanting to start. In my head, it seems like a constant hard physical struggle that I don't think I'd be good at or particularly enjoy hahah. But maybe that'll be the starting perspective to dive into, if it happens in the future!
It’s very true about the mental blocks sometimes it’s hard mentally to exchange with someone and be willing to go first sometimes I have trouble with that and then I end up becoming too passive
I love hearing your perspective. I'm 36, 5' 3" and have only just started training with not expectation of being a GREAT fighter, I just similarly, want to be a good training partner and learn confidence along the way.
What has your own journey taught you about yourself? 🥊🥋

If you make your muay thai journey the focus of this channel, I would follow you more consistently! Good luck!!
