David Gilmour Picking Secrets!
Today's guitar lesson is about a picking technique that can be used to imitate David Gilmour in the song "Brain Damage" from the album Dark Side Of The Moon.
This technique combines the use of the middle finger of the strum-hand together with a flat pick in a technique called hybrid picking.
Now of course you could play this song straight up fingerstyle (without a pick), but live you can see David Gilmour playing with a pick and strumming in the chorus of the song so hybrid picking is a great way to combine both of these sounds together in a functional way that doesn't require picking up a pick or putting down a pick.
