  • The Biden Administration ordered new requirements to upgrade automatic braking standards. The new standards aim to cut down the number of pedestrians killed by cars and light trucks as well as rear-end collisions. While most new cars already come with automatic braking, Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg says the new standards could save 360 lives each year. NBC News' Tom Costello reports.

i am a 30 year commercial class A truck driver...i am endorsed for singles, doubles, triples, tankers, and hazmat. newer semi's already have AEB and there is a big problem with the system. AEB does not take into account someone cutting in front of you while driving at speed. these careless drivers can and do cause surprise braking which in turn causes accidents...trust me when i say driving a vehicle weighing over 100k pounds and having the AEB start braking suddenly that driver has his hands full...so before we install this system in passenger cars lets get the bugs out. once kids figure out they can cut off another car and cause that car to brake it will become a game...

Why do Americans lie to themselves about wealthy foreigners going to U.S. hospitals when the reality is they go to top hospitals in their own countries lol... Your country has former soldiers sleeping in the streets, children going to crime-ridden schools, and sick people struggling to afford basic medication that most other developed countries give their citizens for free because they care.

Setting a car to actively avoid what *it* thinks is going to be a collision at 60+ mph is just begging for disasters to happen….. Imagine someone cuts you off short and eases off the gas because they’re too close to the car upfront and all of the sudden your car jams the brakes to avoid what *it* thinks is going to be a collision before you apply slight pressure to give yourself some space.

  • @JoeBidenIsGreat

On the video better brakes would not have helped . The car was at a dead stop than accelerated hitting the pedestrian. Also you see the pedestrian moving fast because they are running a red crossing illegally while the light is telling the car it is okay to turn. I tried to explain this to president Biden he just don't understand.
