I just bought my first Menorah! I bought the Hanukkah book from Curt Landry Ministries and will celebrate our first Hanukkah this year. I am more excited about it than Christmas!
So am I ! I put on the virtual menorah on you tube and today is the 2nd day . I feel that The Lord celebrated and he is the fulfillment of the first feasts and he will fulfill the last feasts when he returns in his second coming.
Colossians 2:16,17 says: “Therefore, do not let anyone judge you about what you eat and drink or about the observance of a festival or of the new moon or of a sabbath. Those things are a shadow of the things to come, but the reality belongs to the Christ.” Under the Mosaic Law, God’s people were required to commemorate special occasions. Some were claiming all Christians must continue to observe these occasions, but Paul told them to disregard such claims. They were not to allow anyone to judge them based on whether they observed festivals commanded by the Mosaic Law, which by then was obsolete!
Notice carefully what Paul says without importing your presuppositions into the text, he states that these things “are” a shadow that represents the figure of our Messiah not that they “were” a shadow. (α εστιν σκια) The early church kept the biblical feast days and Sabbaths up until 130 AD when Caesar Hadrian outlawed them during the second Jewish revolt (Bar Kochba, cited from Eusebius, History of the Christian Church, Book IV chapter. 5)
That is how I thought of Hanukkah too. Thank you for the perspective on Christmas. We had stopped putting up a tree for the past few years. But I felt that God said that we left our children back there because they don’t fully understand the meaning of the Feast. Even though they have been willing to keep them with us. So we put two trees up this year and the village out and as many nativities I could find in our decor. But we also decorated the mantle for Hanukkah. We will use your book for prayer and scriptures this year each night. In the past I made a list of scriptures that apply and we used those. I am believing God for break through this year. In many areas. Thank you again.
As a Christian, I was always curious about Hanukkah but just thought of it as a Jewish Holiday and was never taught otherwise. Knowing what I know now after following Rabbi for about a year, it makes me so sad that Christian churches don't put more emphasis on the Jewish Feasts/Holidays. I was about ready to stop celebrating Christmas because of learning about its pagan roots but hearing Rabbi's explanation makes me feel more comfortable with it. Christmas has ALWAYS meant the celebration of Jesus to me and I've always hated how commercialized it is.
@Carla, yes! I don’t see how people can say Christmas is bad. I listen to Christmas music all during December, and most of it is music that glorifies my Savior!
@@PeaceIsJesusChrist I just watched a video explaining that when Pagans converted to Christianity they didn't want to let go of their traditions of celebrating on the 25th of December so they combined pagan traditions with Christianity. Also the Bible tells us not to celebrate the tradition of cutting down a tree and adorning it with silver and gold. Maybe celebrate the birth of Christ in song and praise and remembering Jesus birth, without all of the traditional fluff and spending all our money?
Thank Lord to set us free from the religious spirit. It's written in the Bible but we as Christians didn't celebrate but celebrate the one that the world lie to us!
The spirit Im thinking 🤔 called to us cause I did it as a kid (26 about to be 27) Now looking back that HOLLY JOLLY FEELING we all got was a euphoric feeling from being in the blind of what Christmas is... Why else would THE GRINCH hate Christmas and why Cindy Lou who asked what the meaning of Christmas was NOTICE they never said Christ..
Jeremiah 10:3-4 For the customs of the people are vain: for one cutteth a tree out of the forest, the work of the hands of the workman, with the axe. 4 They deck it with silver and with gold; they fasten it with nails and with hammers, that it move not
Thankyou for your explaination about the TREE. Perhaps because it was explained in a positive Light, l was able to breath a sigh of relief and recognize a different symbol of THE TREE
Jesus I love you. You give me the courage to keep going. So I’m patiently waiting for you to take me home. Being a single mother isn’t easy. I’m overwhelmed because both of my children are autistic. I’m struggling trying to support them and myself because like so many others. I lost my job as a social worker at Forsyth hospital because I declined the vaccine. I declined because of my pre existing health condition lupus and heart disease. I was denied my medical/religious exemption. I wish I could go back to the hospital but the mandate is still in place for hospitals that participate in Medicare and Medicaid. I’m waitressing and I’m so thankful to be working again, but I’m not making nearly enough to make ends meet. But God continues to help me. I get harassed and called names for simply asking for prayers, but prayers are all we need and when you’re a real christian people will always crucify you. Thankfully God gives me strength to keep going. I have faith God will provide. He HAS THIS FAR. WITH GOD ALL THINGS ARE POSSIBLE! Please pray for me and my children.
I’m a Christian and I always wanted to celebrate Hanukkah in years when I was 12 /13 ages and I believed Christmas is pagan holiday . This year 2022 I will celebrate Hanukkah.
What about Jeremiah 10:1-4? Didn't Jesus say he did not come destroy the Law or the Prophets..... Matthew 5:17-19. So my question is why do WE pick and choose which laws and Prophets we want to obey? Shouldn't we trust and believe in the whole Bible? Are we not grafted into the "olive tree" that God created and not create our own "gentile tree" that is full of borrowed pagan practices? Why do we put at a higher value what it means to us rather than what it means to our Father God. Isn't God the same yesterday, today and forever? The history of the Bible should teach us that Father God did NOT like being worshiped through borrowed pagan practices. So why do we teach everyone that God changed his mind? As long as what it means to us is good?
Nice message but John 4:24 clearly states that if something is not true then it is not of him. How can something that is not true be worship. Be ye not conformed to this world. I now choose to follow His calender. The Feasts and Hannukkah included. Not for salvation but for worship
If you Know that there are Pagan roots to Christmas trees (& every single thing that is a tradition of Christmas)....then why in the World would you continue to worship our mighty Elohim in the same way as the Heathens??? He commands us to NOT do those things in Deuteronomy & Leviticus!! Please repent & stop worshipping our Abba in the way of the Heathens! Come out of Babylon my people!! The time is short! And tribulation is coming & so is Yeshua!! Praise Yah 🙏🕊️🙏💙🙏🤍
@Melissa, I listen to Christmas music, and it’s all about the worship and celebration of Jesus. Jesus is the reason for Christmas. Since I was a little girl, HE has been the focus of Christmas for me. That has to make God smile. It’s all about celebrating Him. I don’t care what it means to others-I know what it means to me, and so does God. Just like the gays have taken over the rainbow symbol, I could care less-I know what the rainbow symbolizes for ME. Read Romans 14-it helps to explain all this. :)
He is right that cmas isn't wrong.I just remember Christ is at yhe centre of it,not Santa.I fancy bringing Hannukka in to merge with it.Christukka.Why not?
Avinu Malkeinu; hannukah is dedication to our Father in heaven, we carry the light from within and light the lights of David's House. Just as Yeshua did, Shalom.

@@nickys9728 I’ve recently come across the same dilemma with both holidays; lacking biblical instruction. They seem to be man-made traditions, although Hanukkah is alluded to in John 10:22 as the “Feast of Dedication”? Wasn’t the event of limited olive oil/greeks oppressing the Jewish towns after the 1st century? Is this referencing a different feast instead?
