Actually my experience says 5-6 each time. But this on the video is an aberration regarding the microchips. From what I've seen, it's only once in a blue moon that raiding the base provides with 2 microchips. Also, as you can see mutants are pretty difficult to kill, and making bullets and weapon repairs are time and resource consuming. Instead, my base of choice is the zombie base located in south eastern corner of the hornet island. It's 10-14 zombies at once, but you can eliminate them easily with either 6 pistol bullets or 4 rifle bullets, the base itself provides you with ammo and even guns. And every 5-7 times a microchip pops up.
