Michael Ball is absolutely precious! He seems so down to earth and genuine, I felt like we were watching a conversation rather than an interview. I saw him in Sweeney Todd and he was literally breath-taking, you're so lucky Carrie! x
Hi Carrie, thank you very much for sharing your talking with Michael Ball. Last sunday he played "A man without love" by Engelbert released in 1968 in his Radio Show on BBC 2.. Simply a very good song, my generation. He is an amazing guy. He loves all the melodies which comes from the bottom of the heart.. He just knows what sounds great.
And then a few years later she was performing with him again in Les Mis, again! This video came up on my recommendations (I may have been binging a lot of Carrie videos during lockdown) and it was so nice to see it again. The Cameron Blakely story with the cat still makes me cry with laughter!!
Carrie, I saw you in CCBB with Michael, twice. You both were amazing! Shame I won't see you in Les Miz before you leave, but break a leg in your next show. ❤️🎶🎶🎶🎶
Words cannot express how much I adore Michael Ball :D he is my idol and inspiration, and his voice... to die for!! I love him and I'm so jealous of Carrie :p
Every musical theatre fans dream is to work with Michael ball. You are so flipping luky to have done that also can we have a video of just funny things that have happened at les mis cos i loved that meow cameron blakely story hahaha xx
I went to see you two for my 6th birthday doing chitty chitty bang bang! Probably the best day of my childhood, this is so odd but it must be so lovely for you both! Ahh nostalgia is a beautiful thing
Oh my goodness I grew up watching him as Marius in the 10th Anniversary recording!! It's so lovely to see him in this sort of setting. Thanks for sharing things like this, Carrie! Your success is very motivating.
I love Alison Krauss! Her song Down to the River to Pray is amazing. (Also Sweeney Todd is favourite musical - I can't even express how much excited I would be if Carrie was Mrs Lovett!!)
really lovely surprise to see this pop up on my feed because I'm such a big michael ball can after repeatedly watching the tape version of the 10th anniversary for les mis!! honestly very happy that you got to do this with him :)
Ah this is amazing Carrie! Love him in Les Mis and Hairspray and basically everything he's ever done. That is incredible that you've gotten to work together and you still keep in touch! I really wanna get his album :)
This makes me so happy! I love Michael Ball, and he's such a fantastic talent. This looked like a lot of fun for you too, so thank you for sharing it with us!
It's so lovely to hear people talking about music for the reason I love it- recording studios, beautifully produced, crafted albums. It's getting too rare :/ xxx
I saw Chitty Chitty Bang Bang around 12 years ago.. I can't remember exactly when, and I wouldn't know if you were on that exact day anyway but regardless it was a magical experience!! :D I saw Michael Ball in Hairspray too and he was so funny. Nice video. :)
Absolutely loved this! Also now you've mentioned playing Mrs Lovett I can't get the idea out of my head and I really need that to happen, you'd be brilliant!
This is a really lovely interview! Well done as a 'host' Carrie, this was natural, fun and very watchable. I'm sure you've noticed but having the chairs turned to the camera a touch more would have been good. But really, HOW did you not eat those cakes!! They look great! om. :)R
Wow. What a wonderfully charismatic man. He seems like such a warm gentlemen, I feel like he'd be so much fun to hang out with, and visit for tea. Gosh darn you, Carrie, for all these people you know!
I have to agree with your assessment that you'd be more suited as Mrs Lovett than as Joanna. You _could_ probably sing Joanna's songs, but they're so very much made for a soprano, and your voice would do Mrs Lovett's songs much better justice. (I suppose we'll have to wait at least a decade or so, until your voice has finished maturing, before you take on that particular role, though; at your age, it is much easier to sound five years younger (Éponine) than to sound ten years older (any female character above the age of 30).)
Zahra Ali To the extent that she no longer has an adolescent's voice, yes, but female voices continue maturing until their thirties, and male voices until their _fifties_.
I shouldn't stay up way past my bedtime to watch this video with my first stage crush in it but if there is a better channel to do it on, I don't know what it is! Oh, this was so wonderful! Thank you!
This is such an interesting, informative chat with lots of funny moments. It's evident that Michael loves what he does. Lucky for us that he shares his musical talent with us. I am never disappointed when I listen to any of his albums. I'm sure this next one will also be great.
Oh this video made want to cry! I love Michael Ball! Two of my favourite people in one video!! I hope to see another video of you both together again or better yet, you two in a show together again!!! Thank you for the video Carrie, you are adorable together! :D
i just realised i must have seen chitty chitty bang bang when you were in it - i knew michael was in it but it's weird that when i saw it aged 4 i was watching you but i didn't know!
Fun Fact : My gran missed my birth because she was at a Michael Ball concert.
Your gran has her priorities 100% sorted out.
CARRIE!!!! I AM IN LOVE WITH MICHAEL BALL!!! THANK YOU FOR SHARING!!!!

Same! Michael's version of Empty Chairs at Empty Tables makes me cry sweet little tears every time!!
I have not listened to the complete symphonic, I'll have to give it a try! And I agree, his empty chairs is so beautiful. Give me all the feels.
Fun fact: I accompanied Michael Ball twice with my orchestra. He's lovely, and he gave us all a pep talk before the concerts. Lovely chap!
