LOL, just laughing at the kids (I should probably not...). You can hike through that whole Badskloof to Joubert Park (2.4 km) and you'll end up in town. So it will be 5 km in total to get back to Springs (unless you get someone to pick you up with a car at Joubert Park on the other side of town). I hiked the whole kloof once after the recent flood. Yes, you need proper shoes and a hiking stick too. You'll be crossing the river a few times over rocks and sandbags. Some parts very sandy, very rocky, very muddy....but's it's totally safe if you are prepared and you know the distance and are fit enough for 5 km hike in the mountains. And there is no way in hell that you'll get through there on a bike...unless you constantly want to carry your bike.
I had bad experience in February this year, whenever it was loadshedding the water also stops, when it finally goes on the water obviously was cold. It really spoiled my stay. Also the office I didn't let us know that there would be a office party at the pool that was allocated to us. We went for some peace and quiet but was met with a rowdy crowd
You're right with regards to being connected to the outside world etc but its nice when you're with the fam you guys can spend QT together during loadshedding. Play games etc. Also Hayden dont work when you go away maaaaan 😅😅😅😅
