It’s really sad that the journalist is not pushing back on this stupid statement that the guy is making. Clearly he is there to defend the government, he is not being objective in response.
The government cannot be using the cost of the dollar to Naira to set fuel prices because the Naria has lost its value and the masses of people have also lost the value of their salaries which is the same numerical number so there must be a different selling price for Nigerians regardless of what Dangote is selling at his production cost . The government must subsidize. The difference so that the cost at the pump is lower for the rest of the Nigerian economy to pick up
Most people in northern states make less than minimum wage so how can those masses afford the cost of fuel at the pump which has the cost of distribution attached to the pump price
USA has the same oil reserves as Nigeria and produce daily over 12 Million Barrel a day, they give a special tax to the producers which make it worth - WHILE NIGERIA only produce about 1,4 Million Barrel a day.
I worry qhen professionals come with commentaries such as this.Total removal of subsidy will not be an issue if there is highly subsidized publc transport system.
CNG powdered vehicles should have been an initiative promoted early enough especially for public transport system before unleashing this horror on Nigerians
That is what the government should do now is to invest and build structure on over reliance of petrol like public transport, electric cars n bikes trains public schools and hospitals etc by so doing people are taken off the reliance of petrol that is why America they pay high price of fuel but they don't feel it
Oga in the studio please stop comparing Nigeria with America, they are much more better than us, you can't compare people that earn their money in hours to us that have nothing doing

All modern economies give free food and give free money to all its citizens in times of recession so the government can eat the extra production costs of the petroleum for all Nigerians at the pump
Apc member in the studio, are you OK so because the price is high in foreign currency will you allow the citizens to dieee of hunger all in the name of foreign exchange rate you must be crazyyy
They never compare infrastructure, minimum wage, life expectancy with other countries. Nigerians are in for a long ride.

Useless apc government
You guys should stop the comparisons. In those other countries you mentioned, the citizens are able to afford it. That is the difference.
