    Thanks for the step by step tutorial. It's very good that you do the walk-through your self, it makes it easier to understand. Personally, I think I prefer the virtual box/Whonix.
    Anyway, videos about privacy are important - especially in these days.

      Whonix is a great system, But i do prefer tails, as, unlike virtualbox, it keeps no logs. The downside of tails though, is that if you are using a Mac (M1 or later), you cannot run tails. Intel Macs are fine however.

    Nice. I didn't know about Tails.

    Thanks for the video! And Tails with the encrypted persistent storage and the Bitcoin wallet, basically turns a usb drive into a hardware wallet

      @@IdentifyAsMu that would be great. I think the narrative is starting to go off the rails but maybe that’s what they were hoping for in the first place. let’s just keep our fingers crossed and take care of our families.

    Would you recommend using tor built into trezor suite app if using public wifi?

    Very cool, Thank you for this very clear instruction. When storing a document in Persistent Storage, is the file written to and stored on the same USB boot device or is it stored someplace else?

    • @CryptoDad
      @CryptoDad  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      I believe there is an encrypted folder that can be stored on the boot device. However, I believe you could also use a secondary device if you want to. It's been a while since I've used tales. but that seems to make sense.

  • @jperin001

    So this seems simpler to setup vs the virtual box/whonix route. Is there any disadvantage to using Tails vs the other route?

    • @CryptoDad
      @CryptoDad  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Well Tails definitely uses a lot less resources than the virtual box/Whonix route. But I think the Whonix system is more secure since the entire system runs on Tor, whereas in Tails it’s only the Tor browser. I also think the full desktop solution is more flexible as opposed to a compact system that only runs on a flash drive. You have more room to store stuff like perhaps full node copy of the Monero wallet. The tails system is great as a compact, portable operating system. But ultimately a desktop system is more powerful and flexible.

    Are there any specific hardware requirements to run tails?

    • @CryptoDad
      @CryptoDad  ปีที่แล้ว

      Not much just 2GB ram and 64 bit. Macs not so much: tails.net/doc/about/requirements/index.en.html

      @@CryptoDad Was wondering if TAILS work on an OLD MacBook Pro (2007) since it is pretty useless for anything else. The Mac OSX cannot be updated anymore so I was wondering if I could use it to run Tails. I guess there is one way to find out! Seems I tried to Use TAILS a few years ago using a Raspberry Pi 3 but it was not as user friendly as people make it out to be. Just like trying to use a Blockstream Green/Jade wallet. Seems easy enough UNTIL you actually try to use them and things don't work as expected. Trying to get away from using a Ledger but NOTHING ELSE I have tried is as easy as Ledger so....... as much as I hate what they did.....they are still BY FAR the easiest Wallet to use. ALL Others just plain SUCK in my opinion.

      @@CanesFan65 you'll be able to run tails as you'll have an intel-based Mac, like me. I run tails occasionally, but as with most Linus-based distros, tails does have issues connecting to the internet wirelessly, so use an ethernet cable if you can. HTH

    Help... I am trying to install Tails on a SanDisk 16GB USB 3.2Gen1 drive, all downloads finished ok but it keeps failing in the flash step with balenaEtcher, there is not error messages just "Flash Failed", previously i tried with different USB brand names with same results. Is there any help/recommendation to get around the problem? I am using a W10 laptop for the installation. Thanks

    • @Bacardi0917
      @Bacardi0917 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes, I just reformatted it ... (I've tried with both FAT32 and exFAT) with the same error. Also i tried with different laptops with W10 Pro and W10 Enterprise along with both format FAT32 and exFAT with same error, but the funny thing is that I was able to installed it (Tails 6.5) on a DVD without any problem.,
