I am the biggest Whitney Houston fan on the face of this earth. Having said that, I have to give CeCe props for her rendition of this tune...after all, she DID sing it first! Whitney's version is awesome because no one can render a song quite like Houston. But, CeCe sings her face off during this performance. God bless them both, as well as the writer!
This is her song. And she nailed it. And honored her dear friend by singing it at her homegoing. I will always love Whitney. Cece was the friend who stood by her through it all...to the end. In my opinion...Whitney knew Cece had that voice. She knew a God given voice and respected it. With Whitney gone. Cece is the best live singer today.
I always joke that Whitney was Cece’s fan who wasn’t blood related. She love to push Cece to her full vocal potential. There are so many videos where you can see Whitney waiting for Cece to hit a note and knowing that her girl would do it without failure. Their friendship was beautiful.
cece's anointing is unmatched. she has a lot of soul just like the black gospel women before her and her mother. i grew up when she and her brothers were in their hey day. i was upset when she went solo but thank gawd she did!
All these whitney houston comments i thought she was the one singing DANG, CECE has a phenominal gift and her and whitney are EQUALLY blessed EQUALLY!!!!!!!!
dang. cece is the best female vocalist today. there is a reason why she and whitney houston were friends. they loved the Lord...and whitney knew cece was not only a friend...a sister...but someone who matched her vocally and kept her on her game. sadly...whitney is gone...but cece...you keep singing...we will not cry...we will praise and thank God when you sing.
I loved CeCe's original version. It's sincere and heartfelt. I would want it sang at my funeral. I love Whitney's cover. It's big and showy. It reminds me of Las Vegas.
for sum reason in this video, i never noticed how much cece and whitney sounded alike and this is the first time i've ever noticed that bebe and cece do look alike
What a beautiful song by a beautiful and talented artist. CeCe Winans voice is like listening to heaven. I always said I want this song sung at my Funeral. What a perfect song.
@@jacobhelms1743 Yes. It is CeCe's song. Whitney covered it frequently because it was one of her favourite songs from the BeBe & CeCe era of CeCe's career.
True , Cece's studio version is especially untouchable . That version holds to your heart like a visegrip , Whitney didnt realy do it for me . Just because she's the Voice doesn't mean her version's always gonna be better.
Whitney and the Winans family became like real family ever since they met in 1985. Whitney often sang Winans songs before they even met. After they met they recorded a few songs together, performed together and Whitney also did backing vocals on record and live for them.
Respectfully, Heaven is their third album. To this day, 'Lord Lift Us Up' is my favorite BeBe & CeCe album (probably because it was so highly anticipated in the Christian/Gospel world after constantly being asked to perform the song of the same name at various churches and/or events).
i wish whitney would sung ths in the 80s not the 90s she would sounded so beautiful n perfect like cece does here she still sounded goood covering it but besides that who kn ew shed be singing this at her funeral RIP
Bebe & Cece stated many years ago that when they first met whitney they were shocked that she was singing their songs better than themselves. So i believe Cece would admit whitney's version of this song is the best. but you know Cece holds back most of the time...
I don't think anyone can move a persons heart and soul vocally like cece , especially when it comes to this song . Whitney's version has alot of flair and dynamics and it kinda kills the sentimental feel of the song , but the original version will always be beautifully and sentimentally done by cece . Sometimes being the voice doesnt mean you always do it better. As vocally amazing as Whitney is ,Cece is truelly the voice for this song. Just wished Cece had sung it in it's original melody from the studio version.
Carlos Asunza and its even MORE annoying when people get butthurt because someone doesn't agree with them. What I'm trying to say is actually analyze the performances don't listen to the one thing that stands and let that determine everything about everything. Have some layers.
3:31 Cece looks like Bebe with longer hair! I had never realized the similarity between these two brothers... P.S. And some runs in this performance surely sounded like Whitney's runs!
naw babi..im sorry 4 u ...i lov love love cecee..but whit,,,,DEFINATELY got her on the vocals,,,whit had much more dynamics and beauty in her tone...MAYBE U COULD LISTEN AGAIN.....WHITNEY!WHITNEY!WHITNEY!/.......LUV YA CEECEE.....
But in all honesty it is Cece's song and I think she did a remarkable job on this rendition of it. Let's not downplay her abilities and how she worked this song in a way Whitney just could not. But both women put their heart and soul into this song and that's all that matters.
Now come on, "Whitney just could not." Let's not lose touch with reality, Whitney could have sung it any way she liked or conveyed whatever emotion she desired. That being said I do like Cece's version best.
I never really realized how whitney houston and cece sounded kinda similar

GospelAccording2ME Bebe wrote it for Cece. He said so at the BMI luncheon Honor before he sang it to Cece
@@hillbaby02 your right and they put in on their album that year.
I FEEL YOU BUT WHEN YOU LISTEN TO THEM BOTH...THEIR VOCAL ABILITIES ARE THE SAME...I LOVE THEM BOTH
CeCe Winans! Best Selling and most awarded female in gospel music! enough said......
Agreed. One minor change- the highest-selling and most awarded gospel artist of all time, man or woman. 🙌🏿

Facts!!
I always joke that Whitney was Cece’s fan who wasn’t blood related. She love to push Cece to her full vocal potential. There are so many videos where you can see Whitney waiting for Cece to hit a note and knowing that her girl would do it without failure. Their friendship was beautiful.
All facts!
this voice...this lady...this ambassador of God's Truth and Word and love...she is unmatched.
Good grief. If I wasn’t saved, I believe this would’ve converted me ! I love this woman. God bless her.
CeCe truly owns this song. Nobody sings it better.
U playing
I agree!
NOBODY. She's awesome!
Listen to Whitney’s version
they sang just alike
I love this version alot,it makes me cry everytime. Praise God for using people to
write these words. God bless JAM
cece's anointing is unmatched. she has a lot of soul just like the black gospel women before her and her mother. i grew up when she and her brothers were in their hey day. i was upset when she went solo but thank gawd she did!
Whitney and CeCe both cover that song and both did absolutely unforgettable job with song 🎤😇
love whitney's reaction. there's so much love between them
All these whitney houston comments i thought she was the one singing DANG, CECE has a phenominal gift and her and whitney are EQUALLY blessed EQUALLY!!!!!!!!
Thank you!

Couldn't agree more, Brother Derek.
indeed....it has been a blessing to me for 20 years

CeCe LOVES the LORD with every fibre of her being. EVERY song reveals that truth❤️ This God given talent ❤️❤️❤️❤️
Even though the song says Don't cry for me but I can't help but to. This song always Pierce my spirit. And gives me the Holy spirit chills.
Both versions are awesome but Whitney's version gave me chills.
Whitney and Cece is real vocalists. They sang, and sings, and they really uses their voices.
What a beautiful song by a beautiful and talented artist. CeCe Winans voice is like listening to heaven. I always said I want this song sung at my Funeral. What a perfect song.
no cece thank you for your ministry!
Unrivaled. Untouchable. 🐐
The prettiest of voices, I've known since i was little
A lady sang this song at my dad's funeral. This song gave me so much peace b/c I knew he felt like this!
I dont know why but i love Cece's version she just i dont know what she does it just moves me. Whitney's version was good too
I totally agree with you both versions were so good and veey moving
Love your Voice Cece ❤ 💕
This song is Beautiful 😍 💜
Love ♥ the words xx
A song that makes me cry all the time.
I love whitney and miss her but.. no one can touch this song but Cece. The way she sings it just has more of an authentic feel.
Bruce Bythwood it was her song?

WHO EVER KNEW THAT CECE WOULD BE SINGING THAT SONG TO WHITNEY'S HOME GOING IN HEAVEN 🤗💯🙌.
Whitney knew, she told Robyn that when she died she wanted Cece to sing it at her funeral, and that she did.
MS WHITNEY HOUSTON MUST'VE LOVED MS CEECEE WINANS BECAUSE SHE SANG OF FEW OF MS CEECEE WINANS SONGS...LOVE THEM
Whitney and the Winans family became like real family ever since they met in 1985. Whitney often sang Winans songs before they even met. After they met they recorded a few songs together, performed together and Whitney also did backing vocals on record and live for them.
this is from bebe & cece winans second album, heaven. it was released in 1988.
Respectfully, Heaven is their third album. To this day, 'Lord Lift Us Up' is my favorite BeBe & CeCe album (probably because it was so highly anticipated in the Christian/Gospel world after constantly being asked to perform the song of the same name at various churches and/or events).
PURE ANOINTING!
I love cece but when i heard Whitney's version, I cried. Chill all over my back.
Thank you for posting this. A friend told me that Cece performed this on Arsenio's show 20 years ago but I never saw it. Thank you again!
CECE is the whitney houston of gospel
I wish we had a clear version😢😢😢
i love this song!! oh my gosh thank you for posting these old videos of cece!!! love ya!
This song full my heart. God bless u just 4 dis song it's very filling
Beautiful
yes, every song whitney touched turned to gold. back in those days.
Truly beautiful. ♥️💕💕💔
Cece and Bebe Really inspired Whitney Houston
i wish whitney would sung ths in the 80s not the 90s she would sounded so beautiful n perfect like cece does here she still sounded goood covering it but besides that who kn ew shed be singing this at her funeral RIP
Whitney did this great heartfelt version of DCFM in 1994. th-cam.com/video/dVCglAiOFgo/w-d-xo.html
Great job CeCe.
My favorite Cece song
she looks like Bebe...her mannerisms and the way she hols her face on this video!!! She has a very beautiful voice!
Tears.

The baddest gospel singer. And i love how shes not a shame to sing about Jesus. Now a days you dont know if there singn bout Jesus or a man...
It's annoying to see people say Whitney did a better job just because she hit a higher note than Cece did. The only difference was that 1 note
I prefer CeCe's version, by far. I don't give a darn about that note Whitney hit XD
It's even more annoying to see people who are annoyed by others' opinion and preferences to be honest.
Carlos Asunza and its even MORE annoying when people get butthurt because someone doesn't agree with them. What I'm trying to say is actually analyze the performances don't listen to the one thing that stands and let that determine everything about everything. Have some layers.
Stand out*
+De'Jhaun Bercy your first sentence clearly includes you in that bracket as well.
2:39-3:40 is my favorite part
Classic
❤️❤️❤️❤️
yeah she does.
i always wonder why back then in the 70s and the now her teeth are perfect.
3:31 Cece looks like Bebe with longer hair! I had never realized the similarity between these two brothers...
P.S. And some runs in this performance surely sounded like Whitney's runs!
2:39 ayyye
Honestly Cece's is better and I'm the biggest Whitney fan. Cece has much better control of pitch and volume. But I love them both.
she was 26.
i wonder how long she has had them for cuz right now this is my 5th year having braces!!
CeCe
she had braces!!! no wonder why her teeth are perfect!
at 1:18 you'll see them!
does cece have braces on. she looks the same and will always look the same(beautifull)
Of course Whitney version is miles better than this one...But CeCe SANG her butt off...Love this song!
say it
🙏🏾🤔🥲😊
it was 1:28 not 1:18
Whitney's version is more dynamic, tugs at the heart. CeCe's is good but doesn't do it for me as Whitneys.
naw babi..im sorry 4 u ...i lov love love cecee..but whit,,,,DEFINATELY got her on the vocals,,,whit had much more dynamics and beauty in her tone...MAYBE U COULD LISTEN AGAIN.....WHITNEY!WHITNEY!WHITNEY!/.......LUV YA CEECEE.....
🚨I like Whitney's version better.
I like Whitneys and Cece's. ♥️♥️💜💜💔💕💕💕💕😄
whitney is so much better.......
👏👏👏👏👏👏
Whitney piggy backed off of this version
But in all honesty it is Cece's song and I think she did a remarkable job on this rendition of it. Let's not downplay her abilities and how she worked this song in a way Whitney just could not. But both women put their heart and soul into this song and that's all that matters.
