AguyfromHawaii Bruh do you realize how much time many individual people in speed communities put into glitch hunting? Of course people rarely choose to reinvent the wheels of a run, ones time is better spent attempting to push beyond the boundaries of the community’s current collective knowledge base of their game

The only two good games in the franchise are Bubsy 3D and The Woolies Strike Back (aka the PS1 and first PS4 games). And I'm saying this as a Bubsy fan myself.

The awful games block is always a highlight of agdq/sgdq because no one takes the run super serious so people can have a lot more fun with it
Hard SMW romhacks are fun for the same reason. Runners know they're going to die a lot anyway, so the run isn't going to be optimized to the point that having fun is prohibited. For convenience I'll include a few links :-)

Awful block is, by FAR, the best block
Awful block legit may have been the highlight of this year. Arabian Nights is probably the most enjoyable run I've ever seen at AGDQ.

The funny thing is, I loved Dog's Life as a kid, completing it for the first time when it came out when I was 8 years old. It never seemed inappropriate until now. I guess only as adults we see it as bad, but I saw no issue with it as a child. The baddie dies and the goodies win, that's all. Just like the fairy tales we grew up on.

Oh man, there were some excellent games in this awful block. My favorites are probably enviro-bear, dog's life and titenic.

Enviro Bear was a fantastic game
The best part about this video is that they are having so much fun doing it its not very serious and everybody is having a great time.

Glad you guys did these. The fact that the creators died laughing as much as I did while the Animorphs crane seep through was amazing. It''s literally those things that make a gamer just laugh even by himself, and glad to share with all how bad games can be amazing too like bad movies. So keep creating everyone, and take it with a grain of salt, because this is all great fun. It's the darker side of comedy, but gamer version. Like making Worst tasting food as a chief to know what never to mix, but it's in good fun when your gordan ramsay making people taste chocolate shrimp because they insist its the best food, but the worst, yet it was entertainment for us all.
This just reminded me of all the great moments they didn't squeeze into this.
Nearing the end of 2021 and this is still my favourite AGDC compilation

Earnest Evans for Genesis. Had a visual of the game in my head and tried to find it a while ago but forgot the title name. Eventually gave up and forgot about it completely. So happy I watched this video. Thank you!!

i loved the 2018 AGDQ, it was way funnier to watch than every other year. I feel like runners and couch are more in an entertainment mood than fully stressed by getting a good time and stay Over-professional

Subterrania was one of my favorites as a kid. Hard game, but fun as hell.

Yeah I was thinking the same thing.I just revisited this game recently and it took me a couple nights to beat it but it was super rewarding. Apart from a handful of cheesy deaths, the game is really fair and worth mastering.
