As someone who has been on the receiving end of so many dry mouthed desperate seeming men that I have taken to purposely choosing either somewhat blurry or less attractive photos of myself than I used to as my profile pics. I honestly thought his comment was sweet and respectful.
This skit is just the acknowledgement that even as adults, we still have a small part of us that still really, really, wants to eat marbles.

No, when he had a 'mouthful' they were using one big prop, probably some kind of mouth guard with marbles glued to the front. It's very easy to tell his mouth was empty except for in front of the lips. He only ever had 3 or 4 marbles in his mouth when he was actually spitting them out but I'm guessing those were actually candy, there is some really fancy candy with a glossy icing that makes it look like a marble but besides that 3 or 4 isn't really a choking hazard. The perfect circular nature means it'll just slide down your throat and through your digestive tract easily. Glass is also, for the most part, inert so you don't have to worry about dissolving or cracking it inside your stomach and getting cut. Also pretty hard to crack a marble not that they'd move around much inside you. That being said I did still feel some tension at the idea of having your mouth full of marbles and falling backwards off a chair like that. 😬

What is just so amazing about Key & Peele's sketches, is that they were not only really well written but the performances by both of them elevated them even more. Like in this one: Key's character is obviously the buffon, but Peele's "FORGET THE MARBLES, BWOOOI!" just gets everytime

They did. Play it frame by frame after pausing the video and using the comma and period keys ( , . ). You can see the marbles defy physics not falling out of his mouth or moving around and also the fact that his mouth is empty except for an orange peel sort of look in front of his teeth. Probably just glued some marbles to a cheap mouth guard. For the scenes where he spits them out it's not that dangerous since they'd pass through your body harmlessly but they probably still took precaution and replaced it with candy or something. I've had candy that looks exactly like marbles before, only difference is that they were the size of ping pong balls but it was just like m&ms, chocolate with a glossy glaze on it.

I doubt its all real. They probably built a prop mouth piece for the take where he chugs them. And when he's spitting out they use skittles. With editing and sound effects it all helps the illusion.

or maybe some kind of magic villain with a bunch of magically infused items like the jar of marbles, and maybe lady justice statue and the magnifying glass Jordan holds at the end. All magical items that can utterly fascinate certain people. In this case, the jar of marbles got Key
then at the end of the movie, the villain works so hard to obtain these magical items just to fall to his own devices.

yeah lol. when he was eating them with his hands I assumed it was just sound effects and he wasn't actually putting them in his mouth but by the end....he sure seems to have a mouthful of marbles lol. I guess for the full mouth shot they probably built some prop studded with marble so there was no risk of swallowing them but for the scene where he's spitting them I assume it's at least partially real.
He probably only put a few in the front of his mouth but just stretched his mouth wider so it would look fuller

Years later, still one of my favorite K&P sketches.
I love this dynamic duo. I think they have so much talent and potential. I just pictured Keegan-Michael Key as a movie villain here. That ominous music and his face makes for a great villain.

These guys make me feel like I'm normal lol
In the 90s marbles were a staple in every house. They were inside lamps, jars, Kleenex box holders, and planters. Decoration. As a kid I ate several, I broke several, I buried many, lost most.
For anyone concerned. When he started to pour the marbles, they cut away and when they came back, the jar was blocking his mouth already. He had in a mouth guard with marble pieces glued to it. None of the loose marbles actually went into his mouth, they just bounced off the mouth guard. It's why the ones in his mouth didn't fall out or move around despite him leaning forward. It's also why his cheeks weren't bulged out at the end but his lips were.
I just noticed this so I felt like I needed to come to the comments to see if it was already here :)
Peele: So I’m thinking for the next sketch we make a commentary on civil rights. Maybe I’ll make a movie starring you-

Can we just take a moment to appreciate the music? It sells every single second of this
Like take the music at 2:07 for example, it perfectly gives off the vibe of a forbidden treasure, or something that seems good on the surface but will lead to a downfall. The incredible triumphant horns really make you feel the victory, the pleasure that he's feeling, while the choir in the back sings much lower, more sinister notes, foreshadowing the risk and his eventual death, as well as the twist at the end of it all being a sinister trick
All of this for a sketch about a grown man eating a shitton of marbles

This skit was hilarious, but can we acknowledge the brilliance of the soundtrack? It was one recurring motif, but every time it repeated, it slowly got more sinister.
That's a straight up SCP if I ever saw one.
Most likely Euclid based on the level of hazard posed and the intensity of the draw, although Safe doesn't seem out of the question considering that keeping them out of sight might negate the draw. We don't know if people would be drawn to them regardless of if their container is solid which is why we can't rule which one it is definitively with the information available.
