Wanna make a deeper explanation about the plot at 19:41, the action of wkx. He is helping zzs coil hair with his own hairpin. The episode 1 shows the meaning of hairpin in China is a token of love. Only as intimate as a couple of lovers, or someone love someone, that person will give hairpin as a present. Back to the action of wkx, coiling hair, which is 绾青丝. 绾means coiling hair, pronounces the same with 挽, which could be explain as saving here. 青丝means black hair, pronounced similar to "情思", which means love, emotion, affection. There are so many words to describe love in Chinese, some are implicit, and some are explicit. And this one is also a veiled symbol. Can you feel the emotional interaction between their soul? Really sweet! This scene just like a proposal. wkx gives the ring and zzs accepts it. Every Chinese word may have many historical meanings, stories, and allusions, it is really hard to understand if you don't grow up under the nurture of this kind of culture atmosphere.

there is something really powerful about seeing wen kexing on his knees before zhou zishu, finally finally accepting him as his shixiong, and himself as part of the Four Seasons Manor. this show is so good at showing how their relationship dynamics develop over time Edit: I don't think I explained myself well with those random words above so let me try again. We all know WKX at the start: rage-filled, vengeful, self-destructive, even when he's protective of ZZS, he could easily have taken out all of Duan Pengju and tianchuang like he did the Beggar Sect but he doesn't here. He defers to Zhou Zishu. He gets on his knees and at last yields to ZZS's longing to have him return and be part of Siji Manor. He pretty much pledges loyalty and love and his life to Siji Manor and to ZZS, he accepts ZZS as his shixiong in addition to then already being zhiji/soulmates/confidantes. It's a major turning point for WKX's character and his relationship with ZZS. And in my opinion if you can bring someone like WKX to his knees, that is like a super profound / loving but also the sexiest turning point ever (for them both). there I said it lol
That is a HUGE moment for Wen Kexing. When he bowed and proclaimed himself an "unworthy disciple," he was finally able to reconcile the person he is now with the person he was pre-Ghost Valley. He can move on from his desire for vengeance. Compare the angrily screaming WKX we first met in Ghost Valley with the calm conversation he had with Tragicomic Ghost at the end of this episode. He wants to save the ladies who stood by him, dispatch the rest of the Ghosts, and put that chapter of his life behind him for good. And it's all because of A-Xu. He really was saved and redeemed by love.
ZZS expression at that moment is also incredible - something between pride and wanting to cry because he realizes how monumental this moment is for WKX... god I love them

Wow, this episode is so powerful! Wen Kexing bowing down to Zhou Zishu, when he usually wouldn’t bow to ANYONE. The entire scene where Wkx brushed Zzs hair and gave him his hair pin afterwards. And the ending as well, I‘ve now finally realized that Tragicomic Ghost was closest to a motherly figure Wkx had during his time as a child in Ghost valley. I honestly lover her character so much!

The scene that Lao Wen gives the pin to Ah Xu is super sweet. Ah Xu acknowledges that pins are things that people give to their lovers according to episode 1 when Ah Xu immediately realized that princess Jing An is Jiu Xiao's lover as she has the pin that Jiu Xiao crafted. Ah Xu's expression after getting the pin obviously tell us that he knows Lao Wen love him and he also love Lao Wen.
Just want to let the international fans know that the hair clasp WKX put on Ah Xu's head when he brushed his hair represents as a token for love and it has been a symbol of love between couples even before the Tang Dynasty. According to Chinese tradition, we wear red on the day of marriage or any important holidays. So! The exciting part! WKX was wearing red when he went to rescue ZZS with his knee knelt down. The knee part is a MUST do thing on the day of marriage as well!! Then he gave Ah Xu the clasp! What a love!!!

Wen combing Zhou's hair is such an intimate moment. It's really deep and full of meaning. The convo, side glances and finally the hairpin... Word confessions are not needed, that private moment alone spoke volumes than any decelerations of love I've ever heard or watched in a drama.

there is something really powerful about seeing wen kexing on his knees before zhou zishu, finally finally accepting him as his shixiong, and himself as part of the Four Seasons Manor. this show is so good at showing how their relationship dynamics develop over time
Edit: I don't think I explained myself well with those random words above so let me try again. We all know WKX at the start: rage-filled, vengeful, self-destructive, even when he's protective of ZZS, he could easily have taken out all of Duan Pengju and tianchuang like he did the Beggar Sect but he doesn't here. He defers to Zhou Zishu. He gets on his knees and at last yields to ZZS's longing to have him return and be part of Siji Manor. He pretty much pledges loyalty and love and his life to Siji Manor and to ZZS, he accepts ZZS as his shixiong in addition to then already being zhiji/soulmates/confidantes. It's a major turning point for WKX's character and his relationship with ZZS. And in my opinion if you can bring someone like WKX to his knees, that is like a super profound / loving but also the sexiest turning point ever (for them both). there I said it lol

That is a HUGE moment for Wen Kexing. When he bowed and proclaimed himself an "unworthy disciple," he was finally able to reconcile the person he is now with the person he was pre-Ghost Valley. He can move on from his desire for vengeance. Compare the angrily screaming WKX we first met in Ghost Valley with the calm conversation he had with Tragicomic Ghost at the end of this episode. He wants to save the ladies who stood by him, dispatch the rest of the Ghosts, and put that chapter of his life behind him for good. And it's all because of A-Xu. He really was saved and redeemed by love.
A good book is not showing everything on chapter one only. Of course it is the hard part for any writers to give and untroduce them one by one.
ZZS expression at that moment is also incredible - something between pride and wanting to cry because he realizes how monumental this moment is for WKX... god I love them

Wow, this episode is so powerful! Wen Kexing bowing down to Zhou Zishu, when he usually wouldn’t bow to ANYONE. The entire scene where Wkx brushed Zzs hair and gave him his hair pin afterwards. And the ending as well, I‘ve now finally realized that Tragicomic Ghost was closest to a motherly figure Wkx had during his time as a child in Ghost valley. I honestly lover her character so much!
