I’ve been a tech for 30 years, and for a beginner I think you’re doing a great job. It’s great to be able to make fun of yourself when you mess up, I still do it lol. Have enjoyed watching your progress in learning race cars. I’m almost 51 and have wanted to get into racing for decades, hopefully when my son graduates I can finally afford it lol. Pro tip #3, while welding on your car if you have to directly, take the battery out, trust me on this lol, will be an expensive lesson if ya don’t!
Yes sir! I had heard that from a friend that is a good welder so I do! :-) GET OUT THERE WHEN YOU CAN!!! It's been a blast so far trying to figure all this out!
Love your channel! I raced back in the late 90’s, into the early 2000’s. I Knode nothing about racing or working on race cars, but luckily I had a few friends who did, and they pretty much built my first car while I watched. Lol! Started out in the purestock class and worked my way u- to the Midwest mod class. And I can honestly say the the purestock class was the most fun. Keep plugging along, and most of all have fun.
Well they say you learn by your mistakes not everybody grew up working on race cars me and my brother we're lucky enough that we grew up our whole lives around race we were like 8 and 10 years old with our dad letting us do things and for the years that I stop racing things have changed quite a bit I'm 61 now so there's some things were still learning after being out of it for 14 years but if you ain't having no fun then you need to stop but as long as you're having fun keep going buddy
The transmissions on these are crazy you need everything right or you will go thru tannys if you have solid mounts in motor you need rubber on tranny my dad and I was chasing this problem for year we went thru 5 trannys one season just to find the rear end was bent just a tad could tell and we kept cracking the case
For the bolt on tranny mount buy helicoil set (Right size)along withe correct drill an watch video on helicoil repair. the thing is learning to fix it in car. Just donot give up ask questionsan let your fans answer before taking it all a part
I'd trust the other guy who answered before I'd trust me! Hahaha!!! Yeah, it came with the car so ... ? I just got lucky matching the tank with photos on KMJ. ;-)

Don’t worry about your weld not looking like a stack of dimes lol just keep it up and don’t worry about what others say. Ps great intro
It’s refreshing to see more of the struggles all of us “normal” racers go through. Keep it up man!!!!
Thanks! Will do!
It’s refreshing seeing someone make the same simple mistakes I did when I was a rookie (ie not putting a plug in the transmission so it won’t leak)

Thanks Darren! Big jump from where we are to the mods! Appreciate the kind words. :-)
Keep up the good work!

Wish my dad was here to share this time with me... he knew more than I ever will! :-) We'll get there. Thanks for the encouragement!
Don't worry about the weld as a racer you will get alot of practice, your doing just fine 👍

I had to look that up, but yep... makes sense! Thanks!!!
Could you make a cost video? My friend and I wanna get into racing eventually
I will do that in the future, and show all the hidden stuff we didn't think about before hand! ;-) Good suggestion!
You look more like Walter White from breaking bad so tell your co-worker to tell her family don’t come looking for her when she goes missing
That's fair... and funny! ;-)
What type of power steering pump do u run
Looks like a Camaro pump.
