When a Texas cook fries the bacon, we poor it off into a canning jar by the stove. We cook every thing in bacon grease. It is rumored that a Texas house wife who ran from her house during a fire was filmed by a TV crew, as she was clutching a jar. When asked "I see you saved something, what did you risk your life to save?" she took a deep breath and proudly said "I saved my bacon grease!".
I made this for dinner last night and my family went crazy!! What an incredibly rich and favorable casserole. A side salad topped off the successful meal. They want it again next week! Thank you for a great recipe.
I made this a couple evening's ago... only tweaked it a bit with putting fresh onions and garlic in -sauteed before putting in the chicken... and adding some zuchini with the mushrooms... it turned out so delicious! Don't even think it needed the mozzarella on top.
This would be perfect for everyone in your household whether or not they were watching their carb/calorie count or not. I would serve it for myself over any steamed vegetable and have pasta or rice for the rest of the family.

This is an AMAZING recipe. My non-Keto husband loved it as much as I did. The addition of the smoked paprika really makes this a whole new level of flavor.

I made it! OMG! I actually put too much heavy cream in so just removed a ladle of the sauce and added more cheese. It’s addictive!!!! ❤️🤘
