I am a PPF/ vinyl installer based in WA. Very happy to see PPF showing off its advantages in real life application especially in a WA based YT channel! Yes this stuff is very tough I often use a key to try to pierce a piece of off cut in front of my clients- to show how elastic and strong it is. Definitely good for protecting the paintwork from scratches, stone chips and even small dents! Great to see that you still washed it as you go because a good maintenance is still desired for the film’s longevity. Can’t wait to put PPF onto my new Wildtrak- not until end of June 2023 for its delivery😂😂😂
Yes incredibly tough! On my last video Aaron tried to pierce with a screwdriver and had to apply so much force to punch through. I was amazed! Congrats on your Wildtrack purchase also 👌
PPF is definitely a must have for me after witnessing it on my parents car, 220k kms later and plenty of long haul trips when they sold it not a single stone chip on it at all, had some light swirling etc from my dads average wash techniques lol, but that was all on the actual film itself and it was perfect underneath when they got it (front) removed and re-done for the next buyer.
Wow that’s great to hear! Ultimately I would say it’s best suited to individuals wanting to hold onto their car for a while, but as you’ve noted - it certainly benefits the next buyer and will help with the saleability 👍
@@Perth4WDandCamping definitely did not look like the kms it had covered! I distinctly remember a few incidents with large stones from trucks etc being thrown and nothing! Even one resulting in a new windscreen yet paint was perfect. Also love the channel and new ranger vids, (un) patiently waiting for my chance to order a new wild track later this year
Poor Pajero Sport ha! I know it’s wasn’t for everyone. I think the rear design was one of those things you love or hate.. I found myself in the love corner. Definitely a big fan of the look of the Ranger. Bold and aggressive and the C clamp headlights certainly set it off! Thanks for watching. Cheers Mark
Great thanks. Ranger is a wider car so slightly more width. Leg room would be similar but probably slightly more in the wagon. Seats also more upright in the Ranger as they don’t have the back and forth adjustability compared to a wagon - but the kids haven’t complained at all
When I had a new car I was always afraid it gets scratched and just ruins the look… so I got an old car 😂 I never cared for a second even when I parked next to questionable cars or people, if they or something else scratches, well… sure you have the payoff that the car has its own attitude when it’s old :)
Definitely holds up if you care for it. I had a dealership wash the car and has unfortunately damaged the self-healing properties. It’s still protected but not working as well as it did before. You’ll get many years of paint protection if you care for PPF and use PH neutral car cleaner and stay away from automatic and dealership washes.
What is considered ‘value’ will differ from person to person and is relative to the overall spend. If you’ve just spent big bucks on a new vehicle and are prepared to use it for purpose, it’s going to get scratched up. Many will justify the cost to keep it looking nice - with a lot of these pushing close to 100k when you throw on mods etc. I said in the video it’s a big cost (it certainly is) and I think colour plays a big role too. I had a white Pajero Sport before and it hid the scratches really well. Black on the other hand… ha
Wish I kept it too mate. Would of been great to have a dedicated track/tourer and one for towing. Unfortunately funds needed. PS always be up there for me - such an underrated off-roader 👌
@@Perth4WDandCamping I bought a new Pajero Sport earlier this year and we love it. Your videos were a big help in deciding to buy it. Hope to see you out on the roads of Perth and regional WA some day during my family adventures.👍

Congrats on your Ranger too and looking forward to more good contents!
@@calvinfung1548 thanks mate 👍

@@camerongb thanks so much! I’m loving the new rig. Good luck on your purchase and glad to hear about the first hand experience with PPF!
Great stuff. A question. Did you also get paint protection underneth ???
No I spray with Lanolin before trips and clean regularly with fresh water
Love the look of the new Ranger. I wasn’t a fan of the Pajero Sport. Looking forward to your future mod and adventure videos.

Big upgrade from the Pajero Sport, glad you sold it
Thanks mate. Still have a soft spot for the PS - great rig but certainly enjoying the new ride!
A black 4wd it's definately worth having PPF. I wonder how it handles stone chips
I’ve heard with stone chips it’s great. Material is super strong
How are your kids finding the ride in the back seat of the Ranger compared to the PS?

Not a bad approach! Colour certainly a factor also. My previous car in white hid the scratches quite well. Black on the other hand.. ha.

$8k is it gold film?
Haha pretty much
The mirrors can fold in.
Correct but they’ll still scratch
8k! Thats not getting what you paid for. Thats robbery.
