Nice job! Very clear presentation. I use clear image zoom on my RX10IV and ZV-1. I've found that the jpegs are usable with minimal adjustments so I don't shoot raw unless in unusal conditions. 😊
Exactly what i was looking for! you are awesome.. will test this out now... i also have the 20mm 1.8 on an A7Cii. cant wait to have a go. thanks. Greetings from Melbourne, Australia.
On the A7CII/R in video mode you can combine the 2x CIS with APS-C Mode and still use object tracking with face detection. Which is awesome! I set crop mode and zoom in and out to custom buttons. This combined with the 20mm 1.8 is an absolute game changer!
Yes I use the super 35 crop function assigned to my C1 button on my a7Cii so my Tamron 17-50mm gets that instant extra reach to 25mm - 75mm!! Like having 2 lenses in one 📸
So with apsc mode in video i don't lose resolution? It's a proper zoom, not a crop right? If I shoot for example in 4k, also the video in apsc mode will be in 4k?
Do you find the lack of autofocus features when using Clear Image Zoom to be problematic (i.e. does it cause many images you took to not focus properly)? Thanks.
Great video, one little additional information. If you change JPEG resolution in the camera the max possible clear image zoom amount will change as well. At least on my a6400. I choose apsc because it is already 24 Mp and combined with the Tamron 150-500 this is a great feature for wildlife photography.
Very helpful! Could not find a APS-C video to show how to customize and set it to the button of choice. Thank you. Also the 2 ways to zoom in and out is clutch. I like that you said "unless you have a really high Mgpxl camera its wise to avoid APSC mode." So my question now is, what is the point of the 2 zoom options? They are for JPG photos it looks like. Is it preference? Also, Subbed!
These zoom options are for when you want to zoom in a bit more without having to change lenses. I find them helpful when shooting video because there are no restrictions, but I also use them a little for photography too - mainly Aps-C mode, but I even use Clear Inage Zoom a lot more since choosing to shoot JPG only lately.
@@Gemini_ConnectIf he uses the super 35mm crop mode that would take his 35mm to 52.5mm(1.5x). Then if he max out the clear image zoom that would get him 105mm. Effectively 3x, right?
can you compare the difference of image quality between 1) 1.5x clear image zoom and apsc crop disabled 2) apsc crop mode enabled when using an apsc lens?
So i bought the sony A6100 for the clear image function. But when i try to use it, it says my lens isn't compatible? I just have the lens that comes with the camera. I'm very new to photography, this is my first camera. Can anyone help with this?

Same here! I shoot way less RAW these days and am finding that JPG photos work just fine for most situations.
Good presentation. However, Clear Image Zoom does work in video mode. It also works in conjunction with APS-C mode.
I'm still getting use to my A7cii and this was so helpful! Thank you.
thanks for great sharing 😍😍👏👏
Very useful! Thanks.

Very informative 👍🏼

Do you know if object tracking/face detection would work for the a7c as well?
Can you switch from FF to S35 mode during recording?
Thank you for your clear explanation, it's really helpful.
Can they be used in conjunction? like using clear image zone in Apsc mode?
Informative video. Nicely done!

Ok

@@Gemini_Connect makes sense when you put it like that. Awesome thanks for the reply and yeah, JPG is great.
What lens do you use in this video looks like one is a fish eye and I’ve been looking to buy one.
Wasn’t using a fisheye. The widest lens was a 20mm
If you turn of video log shooting mode it’ll work with videos too. This is how it work on FX3.
Is this with the Sony A7iv??
@@EmpowerMelbourneShuffleit does👍🏼
Good Mam
Can you use clear image zoom on video?
I never knew this clear image zoom, so if I'm at 35mm and use clear image zoom, how much more reach would I gain in mm?
2x more

I wish there was a M4/3 crop mode as well, 2x instead of just 1,5x
but it wont work with RAW photos correct?
Clear Image zoom will not work with RAW photos, but APS-C/crop mode will.
Suzi! Are you Idahoan person? Yes!
I’m originally from Hawaii, but living in Washington, I do vacation in Idaho from time to time 🙂

BTW all Sony A7 Models are Full Frame
Indeed
You sound like mj
can you techinically explain why video quality is not affected under crop mode? I kinda can't understand it
