WATCH: BINI, Regine Velasquez, Sarah G receive Billboard PH awards

Kapamilya stars including BINI, Regine Velasquez-Alcasid and Sarah Geronimo-Guidicelli were among those honored by Billboard Philippines in their very first Women in Music Awards Night on Friday.
BINI performed their viral hit "Salamin, Salamin" and received the "Rising Star" award. In their acceptance speech, BINI's Jhoanna Robles vowed that they will continue to "strive for excellence" as they seek to bring P-pop to the world stage.
Velasquez-Alcasid, meanwhile, received the "Powerhouse Award." In her speech, she acknowledged the challenges faced by women in the music industry while hailing her son as her true legacy.
Meanwhile, Geronimo-Guidicelli was named the "Woman of the Year."
"I share this award with all our beautiful and talented women in music," said the popstar royalty, who received her trophy from her husband Matteo Guidicelli.
Other winners were: Belle Mariano (Listener’s Choice); Morissette (People's Choice); Ena Mori (Rule Breaker Award); Moira (Hitmaker Award); and Pilita Corrales (Icon Award).

Regine is so self deprecating sometimes I wish she embraces the legacy and status that she has. I know she is being humble but she is one of the most important artist to come out of the OPM scene in the Philippines and probably single handedly pioneered a genre of singing that to this day artists try to replicate.
