Imagine if in Song of Ice and Fire none of the characters were indicated by sex. All gender neutral.

Also same argument straight back. Would it have caused issues to you if George Martin had wrote certain characters as trans? Let's be honest it's not like he steers clear from stuff like same sex relations and same family relations.
Also you don't play a character in the story. Where as the character you create in wow is who/whatever you decide it wants to be. It's your character. If you make a physically female human rogue and call it John and say it's a male. Does that make any difference to you whatsoever.
Don't get me wrong here. I have my own reservations on the labelling of people, and my sister was a transgender who has now passed away. And yet when I speak of them depending on the timeline I talk about them as if they are 2 different people. Is that politically correctly? I have no idea. But it's how I have viewed them as a person growing up. For X years they were male and my brother and known as what they were born as I and use that name. From X date they were the new name and a new gender. and even if they were still here I would talk to even them in the same fashion if we were speaking of the past.
It's an incredibly complex situation. And I personally think changing it has no negative impact on the world. Is it wrong to open the doors to allow people to be who they want to be? I dunno.
But to say that someone should be fired for it. Yes. That is too far (in my opinion). To be completely honest I doubt there will ever be a solid and acceptable outcome from shit like this.

@@Mug_O_TeaThe pixels on the screen are a representation of a hypothetical world, a world I want to be immersed in, that I want to feel as believable as possible. The pixels represent biological creatures: characters. If you violate the suspension of disbelief enough, then the entire fantasy world is denatured, which is what happens when a writer wholecloth inserts contemporary politics into a work which does not support those ideas.
Aside from that, male and female are biological descriptors. They do not describe some sort of psychological identity, they describe a person’s body.
I care deeply for people who don’t fit into our often binary categories, but they do not invalidate the categories. 99.99% of people are normal men and women, and so I think the standard for character creation should be the actual standard configuration we experience as humans.

I just don’t think affirmation is a proper treatment for dysphoria, so thats basically where I differ from you. I’m sorry about your sibling, and I’m not presuming anything personally about your situation, but I have also had people very close to me experience dysphoria.
The people that treated that dysphoria by caring about other people, surrounding themselves with family members and friends, and just stopping thinking about gender altogether, were the ones who are now successful sober adults.
The one who “affirmed” was being sent estradiol from a European person we later found out had been grooming our friend for years. He’s now on a dozen meds, tethered permanently to the state medicine apparatus, infertile, has developed osteoporosis (side effect of estradiol in males), in a string of abusive and dysfunctional relationships, rejects his family and former friends.
Now, this is a sample size of like 4, so I’m not pretending it’s representative, but it’s as representative as your anecdote and is the origin of my perspective on these issues. Do you affirm people who want to dismember themselves? Do you tell the DID guy that he is, in fact, napoleon, and offer him $100,000 cosmetic surgery to better resemble napoleon?
So upon which data should we draw our judgements? There’s actually not much long term data. Well, there were a couple of Scandinavian affirmation studies done in the 80s-90s, but they concluded that it was a poor treatment method and made things considerably worse.
It’s hard to trust any study done past ~2014 since the replicability crisis in the sciences and politicization of this whole topic is probably tainting all of the studies performed.

That's a very valid point, and after 343s failure and Redfall, I know that Xbox has taken a slightly more heavy hand in handling IPs. They're planning on pulling a Nintendo I think, which is honestly a relatively smart idea at this point in time.

How it is that Blizzard never released a Warcraft based RPG like Baldur's Gate in the decades of this IP existing is beyond me. Making your own ragtag party of humans, blood elves, and an outcast orc dungeon dive and explore Azeroth, far away from the "heroes" and "champions" we play to save everything and just call it a day when we discover a kick-ass pair of boots left on a rotting rogue who tried exploring the underground cavern a week before us would be so damn cool. The lore is there and we could be nobodies in the grand scheme of things, just straight up dungeon divers and tale-tellers. Colossal waste of potential.
Baldurs gate is a horrible game. Never would I want Warcraft's legacy tainted by such a vile abomination.
Absolutely. A Baldures Gate 3 style RPG would be huge. Heck, even a Fallout New Vegas/Skyrim style RPG would be amazing. The Warcraft lore is Titanic and amazing. There are so many stories they can tell.

Bring retail WoW to Gamepass already. Retail already plays very well on a controller and steam Deck.
They would lose too much money. 7.5 million subs for dragon flight. That’s 112.5 million dollars a month from subs alone they wouldn’t be willing to lower that. They’ll probably put it on Xbox but not game pass.

The only thing M$ could do to please me is bring back Heroes of the Storm.
The problem with Sc2 is that they haven't updated it or introduced any real content since the beginning of LotV.
But it was actually in 2012 that they started cancelling Sc2.
LotV was simply forced to close the Sc story.
Championships and other events continued, because they simply only need what Sc2 provides to compete, but the rest of the game, Arcade and game modes, were abandoned since 2012. Leaving aside the Blizzard Dota mod, which would include all new extra content, heroes in coop mode, new units and premium minigames have been scrapped.
Many requests have been made in the community, but they have all been ignored.
Now it is possible that they have a new Sc3 in mind, but the entire community that has been waiting to see that unreleased content will now lose any chance of getting that content due to a new release.
