*We purchased this after moving, and previously had a spotlight **Newest.Technology** cam with solar power. The wired pro cam has much better light (about the same as a bright porch light), and the image is significantly more clear with much better details.*
Used your videos to set up my 8 channel floureon but recently one of my cameras broke and I’m having quite a job finding another floureon camera ! And clues where to get one ! Thanks Al
I bought one like 5 years ago and I bought a 1TB Hard Drive for it and it Recorded 24/7 for 4 years, I NEVER erased anything off it, But like a year ago the System messed up on me and I need to get a new one, But I was VERY happy with it for sure....
Hi Kris, I can Not get mine to record for some reason. I thought it was because I had no hard drive so I’ve now installed a hard drive but cannot get it to record and show a green bar at the bottom. Any suggestions would be great?
Hi Chris. Thanks for the tutorial. Gutted I didn't see it first before buying my device from Wish, as paid double what you paid on eBay. There is only one slight issue I'm wondering if you could help with? When using the remote phone app, it works at home okay but if I wish to remotely view my CCTV, say from my work, it won't connect, despite my smart phone hooked up to a decent wi-fi? Some forums have said to check my network and IP address and gateway etc are correct but I have no idea where to find out these addresses? Any ideas? Also, any ideas how the motion sensor is activated as was hoping just to record footage when some movement activates the sensor? Cheers, Greg
Hi Kris, Sorry to bother you but noticed you have a floreon set up, tried getting an explanation of problem from my eBay seller their explanation is hard to understand, I have recently noticed my cameras are not recording or have no live view at night, perfect during the day, It has been suggested to me to reformat the and check the memory is cleared, I thought it automatically overwrites, and how do you format the dvr, Many thanks if you can help, Mike
hi Kris. thanks for this really helpful. iv got the same set up 8 channel box and using 5 cameras, 1080n. works well. just confused how the colour of the image at night sometimes shows full colour and the changes to black and white? is there a way of keeping this colour at night ?
+Sajid Mushtaq Hi Sajid, unfortunately not. The cameras will automatically switch to night mode when the light levels drop below a certain level. You will probably notice that the colour picture becomes noisy/fuzzy as the light fades. When it gets dark the sensor in the camera turns the infrared LEDs on. There is no way to control this. You could modify the cameras but to be honest you are far better off with a clear black and white image than a fuzzy colour one. Hope this helps. Cheers Kris
Hello, Great video. I have recently brought a 8 ch Floureon sys with 4 2000tvl bullet cams all working fine. Then brought a 3000tvl dome cam but it won't work. Tried different channels, and cables but don't work. but works with all the other bullet cams that come with the system on all channels. Any ideas ?
Are these water proof for when it storms some one please me know I would like to know I found this product on a app and would like to buy it but I just want to make sure they are water proof.
Hi Kris, Bought this system in the summer. One of my cameras has gone to black and white during the day. Contacted the seller and they are sending me a new camera but no explanation as to what the cause, any ideas? I am not in U.K. now so have to wait until my next visit to collect.
Alan M Todd Have you looked at the camera? it's obvious that the IR (night mode) has turned on...it may well be something covering the LDR (light sensor), an insect or bird poop (sorry lol). Try wiping the front of the camera and see if it helps. Other than that it could be moisture that has got in although I doubt it as they are really well made. Let me know how you get on.
I have a similar system to this and it works fine during the day but at night time when it’s dark it goes bananas alerting that some one is outside all the time it even alerts in the rain . Could you tell me a fix for this please
Hi there I have installed everything and I have thought it was recording I have gone to play back and nothing can u tell me what I am doing wrong other than that its a fab set up
Great vids I'm looking at getting a cctv setup as we had 2 scumbags snooping round our back door,I set the dog loose that got rid of them but I want video footage if there's a next time so I can put it out there for people to see, what is it like in darkness as the back of my house joins a field so no lighting.
hi after watching your review I was very impressed so I purchases a 8 channel with 4 cameras set up bonza great pictures can I bugger set up the Internet side I ran a brand new ethernet that is working with the laptop not sure if I'm missing something it say no connection err can you help
Kris Cochrane thanks for the update turns out it was the new Ethernet cable I made up poor connector all sorted over the moon just finding my way round all the settings
Hi I plugged my unit in with hdmi connected and 1 camera and it fires up puts coloured stripes across the screen then screen goes blue and thats it. Any idea if it is faulty or am I doing it wrong??
Hello, I have a similar floureon cctv unit and when I turn it on it will show the floureon logo opon start up then the screen will go blank? And show nothing?? Please any idea will help...
I have a question . I recently replaced my Home security camera system to a Floureon system. I have experienced a problem that I can't seem to find a solution for. I have an 8 camera system and I normally monitor all cameras , however for some reason the system keeps switching from all cameras to only one. Am I over looking a default setting ? How do I make all cameras the default ? It's not cycling through all cameras, it's reverting to the same camera every time. Thanks in advance
Do you by any chance have the DVR in the same room as a normal TV and is that TV an LG TV? I've previously had a LEPTA DVR (which uses a mainboard and firmware from the same manufacturer as the Floureon, XM and this had a random problem where it would keep flicking to the first camera but the cause that the IR codes from the LG TV seemed to be similar enough to confuse it and send a false signal to it.
Hi Kris, I have purchased the same model, but with 4 cameras. I have connected all four cameras and can see them on my monitor. However I am lost from here in setting system up. I have tried instructions, but might as well be in Chinese. Can you please help Kind regards Chris
Unfortunately the only way to understand that is either to mount it outside or disconnect the IR board inside. Did the black square go away after modifying those settings?
Hi Brian, Sadly I don't - electronics is just a hobby for me. It really is easy to install though. A local tradesman should be able to install cheaply If you think you would need help or you are unable yourself. I am Scottish, lived in England for last 10 years though lol. Kris
Ah...ok mate...might drop you a message back and forward if ok? I think I'll manage the camera placement etc but the instructions for operation might as well be in gaelic
Hi Kris...managed to install the cameras and now have everything being monitored. I looked at a youtube vid to show me how to record and I believe that I am managing to record all 4 cameras however I can't work out how to playback. Every time I go to play back I only see 2 channels...where did the 4 cameras go...totally bamboozled
Hi, I am in the UK...still not got it working...I'm going to persevere at the weekend and will hopefully get it up and running - I'll do a video when I do. Cheers
+Kris Cochrane I eventually got it working to day after hours of messing about. The only thing I did was change the Gate way address to 192.168.1.1 and tried it again , still no success , so I put it back to 192.168.1.254 and did I the test and for very very strange reason it worked. I did absolutely nothing else. Try changing your gate way and then putting it back to your proper gateway taken from your home laptop/PC.
Sean you need to fit a drive internally. The USB port is only for backing up short clips I.e. an incident caught on camera that you wish to share. Hope this helps.
+Paul Beal Hi Paul, it's possible the region cover function that allows the user to 'mask' an area of the image. If you go to the main menu, select system then display and you should then see the check box for region cover. Either deselect it or edit the appropriate areas. Let me know if this has helped you out. Cheers Kris
Hi dude how are you? I have a floureon cctv camera dvr that I can reset as it's NOT getting off the start screen and I don't know how to Manuelly rest the dvr
+gary robinson Gary, you can get them on eBay as you say or sometimes the camera has a mic built in but I'm not sure about a waterproof one. I would just mount the standard ones under the roof to keep the rain off. You also need a seperate cable for the mic.
+gary robinson Gary, you can get them on eBay as you say or sometimes the camera has a mic built in but I'm not sure about a waterproof one. I would just mount the standard ones under the roof to keep the rain off. You also need a seperate cable for the mic.
I have my camera in my window but all you can see is light from Window what can I do plus I have a black square on camera one and can't get it off help please.
How do you mean? is it the reflected infrared light from the LEDs possibly? The black square can be turned off under the System, Display, Region Cover.
What you see in the window is a reflection from the IR diodes kicking in creating that effect, it is very common when mounting a camera inside your home pointing out through a layer of glass. No way around that sadly, a few solutions could be : 1: Best solution by far is to mount the camera outside without any glass in between. 2: Try mounting the camera further away and not so close to window, give it a meter or more and try again, or even trying to mount it directly against the glass (so even closer) but not likely to work. 3: Disable the IR diodes (effectively loosing night vision) so camera chip need to be of higher quality to see better in the dark), either through software if possible or if necessary by physically disable them somehow whether via either just a simple a piece of tape or by going into camera house and de-solder/cut power. Not sure about a black box, a small box inside the window (camera window you view on screen) or the whole window black creating a empty black box? If whole window camera probably not getting connection or even working, if you do get image and software put up some black box I have no clue not familiar with these systems.
hi thanks for the review was really helpful, did it come with any motion detection software? and do these cost much to run as in do the cams use much power?..thanks
Hi, there is no software with the unit but there is inbuilt motion detection. if you look at my other Floureon video you will see me demonstrating it. Cheers
oh cheers mate only seen the 3 vids as someone been doing my car tyres and trying to catch whos doing it will check out your other vids whats the name of the one with that on it??
+Kris Cochrane thanks kris. sorry spelt name wrong in original message. thinking of getting 1080n 1500tvl model. do you reckon that would be a good buy.
+dooronron69 I suppose I'll just give you my standard answer - buy the best you can afford. The ones you are looking at will provide a much better picture but will probably still be a little 'noisy' at night. My 900TVL cameras are perfect for me but if I was adding to the system I think I would go higher. It really comes down to the cost vs quality balance - they will both do a good job.
+dooronron69 No worries. I will be contacting Floureon to see if they will provide me some sample units to review given the popularity of my series of videos, hopefully this will let folks like yourself see a side-by-side comparison to help you decide.
I recently purchase the same 4 channel DVR with two cameras , all working perfect , exception motion detection email alerts. I have tried with numerous email account with no success. From reading on the internet it suggests gmail.com as it used smtp. I have used all the correct setting and even had Floureon tech support check them and they believe it a firmware issue. I am interested if you managed to get it working and if so what firmware are you using. I seem to have the latest. Appreciate your comments
Yeah I find them really interesting. I'm an apprentice electrician and I take interest in tear downs and repairs so keep posting and I will keep watching. what's your background in ? must be a spark or something
Hi Kris Im gonna buy floureon 8ch-1080n-AHD-CCTV-DVR-4x-960p-2000tvl-IP-Camera-Outdoor-Surveillance-System-Cam will you recomended this system..._-many thx for answer
It has to do with you're router and forwarding mode probable means port forwarding, and the firewall in you're router is blocking you're camera system from uploading or streaming video to cloud storage (means online storage) and that would be necessary for streaming video to your smart phone while you're on the road and have internet on you're phone. That's if you have your Ethernet cord plugged into you're cameras DVR box and connected to you're WiFi (I'm not saying you're using WiFi) router. Usually you can get into you're router by opening up you're web browser and going to address 192.168.1.1 and logging into you're router (the address might be different for you're router). Usually you internet service goes into you're router and your router has a ip address and then all the devices connected to you're router have a ip address (by cable or by WiFi). Sometimes when someone (you're DVR systems internet streaming service) connects to a communication port on you're router, you're router either blocks it or just doesn't know which of the devices (by ip address) connected to it it to 'forward' that incoming communication to. Also some routers have a automatic communication port opening mode were if someone connects out through a router on a port (in this case your cameras DVR systems streaming service), things that return coming back in through that port are routed to the right computer or device plugged into the router (your cameras DVR box). Once you learn the port number you're DVR system is accepting incoming connections to, and what IP address you're DVR system has according to you're router, you can log into you're router and forward that port to you're DVR systems IP address by logging into you're routers configuration web page by typing the IP address of you're router into you're web browser. :: How to find you're routers IP address :: www.lifewire.com/how-to-find-your-default-gateway-ip-address-2626072 :: Guides for Port Forwarding based on what router you have :: portforward.com/router.htm :: Note :: If you don't know what you're username and password is for your router look up the default username and password for that router it probable is still on the manufacturers default username and password (do a web search for router name and model default password).
Sean, I am still to setup the email function. Others have posted with a workable solution. The remote monitoring is perfect for me but I'll look into this when I can. cheers
Hi Kris, I have purchased the same model as the one shown in video, but a four camera version. I have connected all four cameras and can see the images on a four cameras on my monitor. However I need your help to set up from here. Please can you help. Regards Chris
Hi Kris, your videos are great, really helped me set up my system. Would you mind if I ask if it is possible to add 1080p dome cameras to my Floureon DVR box. My system is 4ch Onvif DVR 2x outdoor 1000TVL cctv camera HDMI USB. Is this DVR compatable with the 1080p dome camera ? Cheers Kris
> set password somebody has messed with my computer I need help setting yet play from the front to the back I'm just not doing nothing that the video of showing at least somebody else I can help me I mean I already frustrated with this please I need help
Send my grandkids because I don't play with my computer bad start back over by sending passwords to everything is there someone that can please help me my house is broken into several times so I need this system running
Installed it myself without any issues. The wifi signal is great even th-cam.com/users/postUgkxE_D_sddGAdiVUKp7PkkmyxO7bRtgqmk5 when the router is located far away. I really enjoy the night vision feature that allows me to see clearly any activity near our house (mostly cars and wild animals). The motion detection is helpful to me as well to monitor what happens on our front.
*We purchased this after moving, and previously had a spotlight **Newest.Technology** cam with solar power. The wired pro cam has much better light (about the same as a bright porch light), and the image is significantly more clear with much better details.*
Absolutely. Like I mentioned in one of the videos old Sky HD boxes are a cheap source of SATA HDs.
Used your videos to set up my 8 channel floureon but recently one of my cameras broke and I’m having quite a job finding another floureon camera ! And clues where to get one ! Thanks Al
Hi Kris I didn't receive the software please can you help how to set up camera ?

Any chance you can put a video up on how to connect to wifi and your phone. Not having much luck. Thanks

Are these water proof for when it storms some one please me know I would like to know I found this product on a app and would like to buy it but I just want to make sure they are water proof.
Yes these are waterproof. They have a tough material which does an awesome job to protect it. This is an great camera system.
How do you stop the alarm status poping up all the time as I only got 4 cameras the the other ports show video loss . Any help thanks
Can you connect just with your phone ? without the monitor?
hi Kris yes i think it is the infered that's doing it as at day time it was OK
Unfortunately the only way to understand that is either to mount it outside or disconnect the IR board inside. Did the black square go away after modifying those settings?
+Kris Cochrane, don't know what part to go on as I'm thick at stuff like this soz
+Maggie Marsh If you right click and go to main menu, select SYSTEM then DISPLAY there should be a mask option. Just untick that option then click OK.
Hi Kris...do you happen to do installs for this Floureon CCTV system? I'm in Falkirk and you sound local (ish)

hi how is the cctv setup now isit work okay does remote viewing work to see the image on ur phone or tablet?thank u
+Alireza iesanejad Yes it works perfectly on my Galaxy S7 Edge
What’s the name of the App to use in order to view it on your phone...That’s where I’m stuck at?
do you receive a pic when you get a alert to the email ?

Hi Kris, it done the job, many thanks.
I'm having problems with my cameras, no pictures just vertical lines black and white. Can find any recommendations of reasons or solutions.

Kris Cochrane yes I can get the menu up.
Kris Cochrane pity I can't upload images or video here to show you.

how do i remote view the video on this dvr plz help
hi Chris, what tvl rating are the cameras
+dooronron69 These ones are 900TVL. The higher the number the better (if you didn't know).
Cheers
+Kris Cochrane thanks kris. sorry spelt name wrong in original message. thinking of getting 1080n 1500tvl model. do you reckon that would be a good buy.
+dooronron69 I suppose I'll just give you my standard answer - buy the best you can afford. The ones you are looking at will provide a much better picture but will probably still be a little 'noisy' at night. My 900TVL cameras are perfect for me but if I was adding to the system I think I would go higher. It really comes down to the cost vs quality balance - they will both do a good job.
+Kris Cochrane thanks
+dooronron69 No worries. I will be contacting Floureon to see if they will provide me some sample units to review given the popularity of my series of videos, hopefully this will let folks like yourself see a side-by-side comparison to help you decide.
Hi I need help connecting to my WiFi with my Floureon H.264 can you help me?
How I get the x of I knocked a camera out
I recently purchase the same 4 channel DVR with two cameras , all working perfect , exception motion detection email alerts.
I got the latest firmware from floureon but still no success. Have you enabled pop/imap settings in your Gmail account?
+Kris Cochrane yes I changed the setting in my email account and got the latest firmware. - see my potential solution below.
Can you hear audio also?

Hi nice video is this system still working fine
Yeah, still working fine.
Which android app do you use for this DVR?
+Wowzer I use XMEYE as recommended by Floureon.
I have one of these DVRs and it keeps saying p2p failed, enable forwarding mode.... have you any idea how to fix this as i havent a clue :(
It has to do with you're router and forwarding mode probable means port forwarding, and the firewall in you're router is blocking you're camera system from uploading or streaming video to cloud storage (means online storage) and that would be necessary for streaming video to your smart phone while you're on the road and have internet on you're phone.

:: Note ::
If you don't know what you're username and password is for your router look up the default
username and password for that router it probable is still on the manufacturers default
username and password (do a web search for router name and model default password).
hey how do you set up the email messager please
Sean, I am still to setup the email function. Others have posted with a workable solution. The remote monitoring is perfect for me but I'll look into this when I can.
cheers

Hi Kris, your videos are great, really helped me set up my system. Would you mind if I ask if it is possible to add 1080p dome cameras to my Floureon DVR box. My system is 4ch Onvif DVR 2x outdoor 1000TVL cctv camera HDMI USB. Is this DVR compatable with the 1080p dome camera ? Cheers Kris

just got one and out hard drive in it
How big of a HOLE did you have to drill in your walls?
Installed it myself without any issues. The wifi signal is great even th-cam.com/users/postUgkxE_D_sddGAdiVUKp7PkkmyxO7bRtgqmk5 when the router is located far away. I really enjoy the night vision feature that allows me to see clearly any activity near our house (mostly cars and wild animals). The motion detection is helpful to me as well to monitor what happens on our front.
