  • Five minutes can make your GIS maps more accessible.
In this video, Tripp Corbin, GISP, one of SAM’s knowledgeable ArcGIS Pro specialists, demonstrates how to leverage extent indicators on your map to show relationships between inset and other views in a layout. Inset views within a map can show greater detail or offer a different perspective, but these can be more confusing than helpful without the context provided by extent indicators. Tripp offers insight into thoughtful cartographic design within a layout when creating a GIS map, making it more readily interpreted and user-friendly.

With Esri planning to stop support for ArcMap in 2026, this kind of how to information is a big help to the community as they work to migrate over to ArcGIS Pro. Thanks for putting this out there to help others.

This is excellent info. I was trying to figure out how to do this the other day in Pro but finally gave up because I was on a tight deadline. I hope you are able to share more quick tips like this as time allows. Thank you so much Tripp!

@@SAMCompanies I definitely have ideas because while I'm pretty proficient in Pro after forcing myself to use it for the last two years, I still run into things I'd like to do but can't take the time to take a deep dive to figure it out. I'll reach out to Tripp or comment! Thanks again!
