After doing extensive research I ended up buying the Big Sur Sport. I am 65 plus and 5 foot 7 inches. This bike has exceeded my expectations. It was important to me to have a bike that I could reach the ground while sitting on the seat. I've ridden full-size E-bikes and found this one handles so much better, especially at low speeds. Having a torque sensor instead of a cadence sensor is a game changer. No ghost pedaling even at top speeds. I added a suspension seat post and it rides like a Cadillac. Many bikes this size have post handlebars. Yuck. Having an adjustable handlebar makes for a comfortable ride. Even though I get well over 30 miles range on a charge, it would be nice if they offered a larger battery option. If you buy this bike you will have lots of fun with no regrets.
Hey there. Great vid! I was close to buying a bike online, but after watching this video I'm definitely buying from a shop... plus it comes with a warranty. I actually test rode a Big Sur (the non Sport model) today and really liked it. However, I'm torn between the Big Sur and the Aventon Aventure 2, which I know has a longer reputation and really good reviews from what I've seen. Which should I choose???
Great information. I just bought two AIMA e-bikes yesterday. Got the Big Sur for myself and a Big Sur Sport for my wife. Bought them from a local shop that just got some in. Apparently, they are flying off the shelves. I have only ever bought bikes from local shops, because of the support issue.
How has working with trek Been? We currently have aima our Bike Shoppe as well as Cannondale, salsa and Santa Cruz. What seem to be the hot items from trek that are working for you and are they forcing product down your throat?
How do new companies function? They send you a bike for free to test? How is it possible to verify the workmsanship?? Or how can you verify the quality before agreeing to sell them?
Thanks for letting us know about the direct to consumer industry. NOW, tell us about this bike. You rant about the industry in your vids and neglect to go in depth about this bike. It;s pronounced AIMA not AMIA. How does it ride? Have you ridden it much other than 1 block from your shop? I've watched the videos you've made about the Big Sur and haven't learned much about it but you've shared plenty about the industry. Lighten up, go for a ride and then let us know much more about this bike.

He pointed out that he noticed a lot of high quality components from reputable vendors. That's a sign of a good quality bike.
