You know what a cry means right, its not just tears, its to cry out, its a shout, its actively suffering, wailing, weeping. Just tearing up isn't really traditionally considered to be crying, thats why in books "she cried" is more of a shout in sadness rather than just tearing up.

Actually he has a point. After my brother died, I would have tears running my down my face while I was lifting weights. I wasn’t actively wallowing it was a different form of crying. Crying is natural, but it’s a dedicated act. Meaning that I had to be doing that and nothing else in the moment.
Why not just let yourself cry so you’re actually dealing with your emotions. The forced tears are your bodies way of telling you there’s emotional distress you’re avoiding, likely because you’re trying preoccupy yourself with other activities, which is the same as running from it. I get not wallowing, but the “act” of crying is something men especially probably need to learn to do more so their emotions don’t turn to pent up aggression later
