It is not gandhara. Just because the name has similiarities with gandhara does not make it so. Thori si research kar li karo history par lecture dene se pehle. Gandhara was peshawar and surrounding areas. Now go to the google map and check the distance between both. Kandahar is named after alexander the great. He is called iskander in local language so kandahar from iskander.
Oh boy, that short conversation with those little Kandahari girls was interesting. Here is a messy translation of what happened there, and what was going on. Though, due to language barrier, they couldn't communicate well. They were saying that: One girl: I study as school (maktab) and they study at madrasa, albeit in two different madrasas. and the conversation moves on: You speak Farsi-Dari? (actually to clarify, Farsi is the language, and Dari is just a dialect spoken in Afg, the same as Tajeki spoken in Tajekistan. So basically, Farsi and Dari both are a reference to the same language-Farsi.). To clarify, People in Kandahar mostly speak pashto with a distinct but sweet Kandahari accent. And the girls then ask: you speak Farsi. the answer is no, I am from india and speak Hendi/Urdu. Then the beautiful girl asks: Have you come alone, by what? and then they say car, and then the time is discussed 20 hours. And then Garima asks, your home there, she says yes, theeeeeere.
Was quiet annoying that the tourist was asking them if they speak Farsi And she knew Kandahari are Pashtuns. And they all speak Pashto Farsi meaning spoken in Kabul and Northen areas
Yar you are amazing. Who will imagine a girl from India will rode a strange man bike in Kandahar. Yes we Afghans are peace lover, we respect people.listen O world we are painted wrong in the biased media. I wish more people more brave girls like you will visit Afghanistan.
Afghanistan has endured nearly half a century of continuous warfare, with Kandahar serving as a focal point of intense conflict. Both Russian and NATO forces engaged in frequent bombings of Kandahar. This protracted conflict has forced approximately 5 million Afghan refugees into Pakistan, with an additional 3 million seeking refuge in Iran. Many others have found their way to India, Europe, and the United States, driven from their homeland by the ravages of war. These displaced individuals have been compelled to abandon their homes, places of worship, and all they once possessed. My own life has been profoundly impacted by these wars, as my family and I were compelled to flee our residence under the cover of darkness, narrowly escaping a rocket attack that could have claimed our lives. It's essential to note that these conflicts have affected not only minority communities but also the majority population.
The little girl in the red kurta seems very bright. I don't understand the language but she seems very mature and intelligent for her age. God bless them.😊
No one even stresses the status of Hindu Punjabi's in Punjab today veere lol let alone what happened to us during insurgency and why so many wanted Haryana in 1960s and Himachal Pradesh in 1970s to be made.

Not only kandahar. Bactria(valmik desa) was a territory under imperial Gupta.2nd Chandragupta's (vikramaditya) Mehrauli pillar inscription proved that.
Chil Zena ("Forty steps"), also Chilzina or Chehel Zina, is a mountainous outcrop at the western limit of the city of Kandahar. Forty stone steps lead to the top of the outcrop, hence its name. It gives a commanding view on the city of Kandahar.[1] Chil Zena was located on the northern side of the old citadel of Old Kandahar, destroyed by Nadir Shah Afshar of Persia in 1738.[2] The carving of the staircase was commissioned by the Emperor Babur.[3] Chil Zena later received numerous inscriptions about the conquests of Babur (1526-1530), apparently carved by his son Humayun.[1] Wikipedia

Yes, Afghanistan used to have many Hindus and Sikhs and they lived in peace with the Muslims, no problems. However since the Soviet invasion and all the other wars, they started leaving Afghanistan. Because they were religious minorities, it was easier for them to obtain visas and refugee status. I saw many Sikhs in England and they told me they came from AFG. When the Taliban took over the govt in August 2021, the Indian govt gave Sikhs and Hindus asylum and basically all the rest left for India in addition to whatever Western countries would take them, again it was easier for them since they were religious minorities.
Reality is religious intolerance .... islam can't stand any other religion in front of them ....now check the reality ...and u talk about peace ohh come on 😅...so called peaceful community ...issslamm😅
Important to note for historical purpose Those Sikhs and Hindus in Afghanistan are not Afghans. Mainly Hindko migrants from Punjab and Hindko is their language. They live peacefully with Afghans However many moved out back to Punjab India and UK and Cananda
@Azmaray547 hindkowans are indigenous to the kabul valley and other eastern parts of afghanistan/kpk in Pakistan and are the contemporary descendants of the gandhari people. the pathans are the migrants into these areas actually. indo aryan indigenous people (ex.
