UH Men's Basketball has only won the Big West once (2016) in its 12-year tenure. Since then, UH has hovered between 4th and 6th place overall in the standings, save for a 3rd place in 2022. UH is also the only school that made it past the first round in the NCAA Tournament, having done so in 2016. After that, UH suffered a 5-year drought of winning a tournament game due to being bounced out in the first round before they defeated UC Riverside in a Quarterfinal thriller in 2022. UH Women's Basketball has won the Big West three times in 2016 and back-to-back in 2022 and 2023. They were bounced out in round 2 of the 2024 tourney (like the men) by UC Davis. UH Softball won the Big West just one time in 2013 themselves. In the last several years, TV coverage of softball in Hawai'i has been scarce. Only two or three series were televised on Spectrum Sports as of the 2020s. Will UH have an easier time making the playoffs in the end? Only time will tell. *So that's it. Not much success in the Big West. Unfortunately, it won't make much of a difference in the Mountain West either. As long as poor ol' Hawai'i is far away from the mainland with constant jetlag in all sports, those poor fellows will always be a handicap. Only way to succeed is to have more Hawai'i universities in Division 1, and good luck with that! Especially seeing how tiny of a state Hawai'i is.*
And they still do. The reason I came out with this video is because this move will help the main sports of basketball, baseball, and football, and old rivalries will be rekindled. Also, I didn't mention volleyball because UH has been ranked in the top 5 for years, and crowds at volleyball are notoriously packed.

I wouldn't look at it that way.
(and the Big West does not do football).
*Except UC-Davis and San Luis Obispo, with Hawai'i on their way out.*
ONE comment will suffice on my videos, buddy.
The University of Hawaiʻi will move all the remaining sports, to the Mountain West Conference in 2026.
*Fixed.*
I don't know what you're talking about.
Also Hawaii played volleyball
And they still do.
