D'Angelo smiling onstage again is the best thing I've seen in forever. Tears in my eyes.
You can tell Dangelo studied the hell out of Prince. From the band members to covering the original version of The Latest Fashion. I always admired Dangelo for that . And he’s authentic. He didn’t wait until after Prince died to show love for his hero.
pure 80's PRINCE and the Revolution people right down to his saxaphonist Eric Leeds
enjoy
Yeah, a lot of casual Prince fans won't recognise this tune because he wrote it for the Time's "Pandemonium" album.
I have all the respect in the world for these cats because they've always stayed true to who they are and they have so much love for their craft. I have THAT MUCH MORE respect because they said a little prayer before they went out and rocked an obviously packed house. That's what's up.
Palafucking dino
PALA-FUKN-DEEEEKNOW INDEED!! SPACE-IEST Bassist since BOOTSY, Bitches!! (Of course...Inna diff Bass Universe kind of way)
I was at this show!! Best time of my life!! It was one huge dance party.
"Artists are the vanguard of society" Dr Cornel West
Jimi did not patent the afro or even his style of dress. Jesse has been in the business for over 30 years and has earned his reputation as a funk/blues/rock guitarist. Quest and D'anjelo were influenced and inspired by Prince and Jesse worked with Prince and contributed to the famous "Minneapolis Sound". Jesse and Prince were both influenced by Jimi. That is how music is passed along. People have to stop comparing every good black guitarist to Jimi. Jesse can dress like Sponge Bob, still great.
So cool that they covered an obscure Prince song. He had so many great ones....
Awe snap. This is the jam. D'Angelo is the truth. Gone a decade from the music scene & came back with a BAM-JAM. You go Son. Love that he's back in full effect
Pino Pino Pino
what a performance! that pocket is so deep i lost my wallet in it! when they hit Ed on the one at the 8:52 mark, the dynamic range Pino is rocking to start that section is absolutely masterclass. totally drives the song along and pushed you deeper into Ed's amazing sax. WOW
that sax solo where everyone sat out gave me chills
I'm craving more live D'Angelo after seeing him perform at London's Hammersmith Apollo. This video just shows the extraordinary talent that D and this band of talented musicians possess. Not forgetting Kendra Foster who is the most mesmerising backing singer I have ever seen. Thank you for posting
Aw man that was incredible. killing the sax!!!!!!
Good God..Lawd Have Mercy...I bump this video every spring and summer since 2012...
Love the band..Love the sound..
Big ups to one of my top fav Bassist Pino Pallidino on Bass bringin the Funk!!..Legendary

Any time I get a chance to hear the great Mr. Eric Leeds, it is a treat.
Purple Prince blood running through this whole band! awesome!
Finally a crowd that respects the artist enough to not have phones out
Amazing artist, so happy he's back. Hot as ever!!
The synchronized jump between D and his guitarist got me hype
I can watch this everyday and still get emotional every time. Thank you for sharing.

Many have already stated it the truth. This superjam was unbelievable even going against the vibrating bass of skrillex these men rocked that night. I stood there in amazement one song after another to finally when they ended i road a musical high of happiness all the way to GZA. for two years now Ive been lucky enough to see two amazing superjams. Im excited for this years 2 different superjams!

Gareth....thanks, that explains a lot.
amazing dudes...amazing crowd aswell !
Goddamn, Jesse Johnson! I love how around 7:48 it turns into kind of a Morris Day jam. Though really, the whole song is very mid-80s Prince.
...regardless, I want that new D'Angelo record already! I'm about ready to choke a bitch!
IKR!!!!D'angelo is BULLSHITTIN!!!But I know whenever we get it...it will be WORTH the wait!!!
That's because it IS 80s Prince. The Time released it on their "Pandemonium" album in 1990, but that's a Prince record, through and through.
The Time's song is a gift!
This is fucking beautiful! Holy shit I almost shed a tear because it was that awesome! :')
This real music
Eric leeds still fucking got it!!!!!
A song from the very good Prince's Album : "Graffiti Bridge" 👍👍👍 D'Angelo💓🙏
Actually from The Time's album Pandemonium of the Graffiti Bridge movie soundtrack.
There is a very big similarity to James Brown in his style of singing. I love it.
This is great..a prince tribute at its best
Thank You Bonnaroo!

This is AWESOME! I can't wait to see the next episode! I'm pumped for D's return.

Thank you Sir. Bigi Grani.
Such a killer band.
That's a mean sax..... Loved this!
I'm happy to see him back with quest and pino
It reminds me of Prince and the revolution’s “America” live version..
If U know what I mean..
Doesnt D'Angelo sound like a combination of Al Green and Prince on this song??!??
This is love
Ooops! Why did I find this only now? Great show, many thanks for posting it!

Amazing! Can't wait for more.
this was amazing! one of the best shows i've ever been to. plus i'm stoked i see myself shooting at the beginning :D
Well you can run along now and go back to the comfort of your pop chart music ..litlte one!
Man, Prince sure set the bar high didn't he?
Will we ever see it reached again in our lifetime? Probably.
But it won't be this guy.
Ray James Marvin Prince & all
concentrated.
all i can say is THANK YOU
dont worry man! people like him like to judge others on the way they look and their decisions in life. He should be grateful that such a gathering of quality musicians are getting together like this!
.This is AMAZING!!..
Holy sshittt
AMAZING!!!!
just like prince!
i like this!
My Sumertime Thang (The Latest Fashion) from Pandemonium-The Time, with Eric Leads and Jesse Johnson

This is so cool!
🔥🔥🔥Mane that was AMAZING!
As much as I loved the D'Angelo set, and I was pretty fucking stunned to see him walk out on stage, the John Paul Jones Superjam he did in 2007 was out of this world.
