I've seen and played the high-end Clavinova CVP809GP. Does this have a comparable or even better sound than the 809, minus the larger grand piano look and computer screen? I'm guessing the 809GP is the top of Yamaha's digitals at the moment, but the 785 does have a nice sound too. How are they similar and different? thanks!
Thank you for watching and leaving a comment! We sure appreciate it! You're looking at fantastic and high-end Clavinova models from Yamaha. I'll do my best to outline the answers to your questions below: The Speakers on the CVP-809GP are a bit more robust and placed on the cabinet in a way to represent the most resonant spots on a grand piano. The extra speaker system on the CLP-785 is powerful, refined, and very enjoyable to play. I am going to list the information below for your consideration. However, both of these models solve different problems for piano players and provide a different experience. If you'd like to email me at josh@popplersmusic.com or give me a call at 701-746-7471 I'd be happy to hear more about your goals to help guide you toward the right purchase! I'm sorry to hear this... The global supply chain has not recovered yet and everyone is experiencing long delays with shipping. @@PopplersMusic Thanks for the offer. Yes, I am in the US. Sure, add me to your waitlist, although I assume that since I already ordered through GC on June 1st, you won't have anything before them?
@Andreas Sjöström Sounds good! Timing depends... We have been planning many months ahead (in some cases 12 months ahead...) with orders and we have quite a few CLP-785s on order so it is tough to say who would get the piano in first. We are caught up with our waitlist on the 785 so you would get the first one that comes in with us. Andreas, would you mind sending me an email at josh@popplersmusic.com and we can finalize getting you on our waitlist? If you get the 785 in where you're currently on a waitlist you would have no obligation to pay for the model on our waitlist. I'll keep an eye out for your email! Have a GREAT day! - Josh
Yep! All you need to do is pair your laptop Bluetooth with the Claivnova. If you are in the market for a Clavinova, we would be honored to work with you! Have a great day! - Josh
Hey! Check out this link! www.popplersmusic.com/pianos/accessories/digital-piano-accessories/headphones/ If you want the beat, go with the MT7s. They are fantastic! - Josh
Thank you for watching! You are not alone... Many people we have worked with have a tough time deciding between the two models. Jay, if you wouldn't mind emailing me at josh@popplersmusic.com, I'll send you a detailed write-up on what to consider between the two options :) - Josh
What's the deal with that lid? It looks terrible with those exposed screwheads. I have an old Clavinova that has been great, but with that lid, it makes me think that the product line has gone downhill.
Thank you for watching, Timothy! I'm sorry to hear you don't like the design of the lid. However, the quality of the Clavinova line is as strong as ever. Yamaha continues to develop updated technology and innovate the Clavinova series in all facets. If you are ever looking to update your Clavinova, I think you will be surprised at how far the technology has developed in terms of samples, speakers, and features. If you ever have questions, please feel welcome to reach out to Popplers Music. - Josh
