I was 4 lol... but I was a big metalhead because of my dad. He was big into iron maiden, sabbath, motorhead, but also had a punk faze si loved the pistols as well as prog like genesis and pink floyd etc... the latter (prog) I didn't get into until recently due to a stoner metal phase I'm into which is very close to prog blues lol. I love blues too so recently got into lighter stuff like blues rock, led zeppelin, rolling stones hendrix (stuff that wasn't heavy enough when I was younger but now I'm 30 I appreciate the blues a while lot more, genuinely love muddy waters and BB). Which has brought me to these beauties... never gave them any time for whatever unknown reason but as I'm into a lot of fuzz pedal using bands I had to give them a listen and I've been listening to them all day since the first song. Love the grunge but also punky as well as the blues rock solos mixed in - they are an incredible band and I don't know how I missed being a fan of them when I was younger.

My last dog passed away in 2015 but for years her favorite thing in the world was to jump in my jeep and ride around town, tongue out, head out the back window. But before every ride I'd always put on my best Corgan voice and ask her "Wanna go for a riiide?" After years of this, not even thinking about it, watching music videos in the living room, this comes on and boy, when he delivers that line in the same cadence I'd been for years, you've never seen a dog's head whip around so fast!

    My reflection, dirty mirror
    There's no connection to myself
I'm your lover, I'm your zero
I'm the face in your dreams of glass
    So save your prayers
For when we're really gonna need them
Throw out your cares and fly
    Wanna go for a ride?
    She's the one for me
She's all I really need, oh yeah
    She's the one for me
Emptiness is loneliness, and loneliness is cleanliness
And cleanliness is godliness, and God is empty
    Just like me
    Intoxicated with the madness
I'm in love with my sadness
    Bullshit fakers, enchanted kingdoms
The fashion victims chew their charcoal teeth
    I never let on
That I was on a sinking ship
I never let on that I was down
    You blame yourself
    For what you can't ignore
You blame yourself for wanting more

    • @almostcatlike9458

Xavier Morales You can't really place them. You can only really trace their orgins back to the grunge era and the late 90's early 2000 goth, more darker era. They fit into many genres musically. Alot of good bands can pull that off. However, they never touched emo territory. I love emo, but definitely not something SP ever sounded like. I think it's considered whatever you think it is, or as you remember it. Look at these silly people almost fighting about the subject. Just listen to the music, watch the video and enjoy the memories it gives you.
