I lived in Lockhaven for a summer in the late 1960s. Shared an apartment above one of those stores on Main Street. You could still see where the canal was back then. Great little town. Nice people. Fond memories.

Hurricane Agnus in 1972 caught my attention in your video. It was the year I graduated from high school, mid June, 1972, right in the middle of the worst, historic flooding of all time of the Susquehanna's River Basin from the Southern Tier of New York State through Pennsylvania towns to Harrisburg and beyond. You are right about the generations of today owing the generations of WWI, WWII, Korea, Vietnam and Iraq, that sacrificed their lives, so the generations of today are free to live their lives they want to today. Daniel

From everything I've read, Agnus was the fiercest hurricane to hit PA in the past hundred years or so.
Yes, as I mentioned in the video we owe so much to prior generations. Sadly, I feel a lot of people sort of forget how much sacrifice it took to have the freedoms we enjoy. Thank you for the comment and overall support of the channel. Much appreciated, my friend!

Lock Haven! My Grandparents lived there. My Grandfather worked for Piper Aircraft! They moved to Lakeland, FL in the 70's, probably after Agnes, which I was too young to remember the details of. Never even knew they had a museum! Scandalous stuff about that covered bridge...a woman scorned, eh? 😮
I have not been there yet either. Now I know some cool spots to check out when I get there! We also use geocaching to explore areas we are unfamiliar with. We learn a lot about official stuff as well as folklore! Thanks for taking me along Jenn!

My hometown! I boat on this river. The gate on the railroad is for when the river gets to flood stage they close them to protect the city. It's part of the levee system. The building with the bells is the Clinton County Courthouse. My girlfriend works there. I work for the Piper Aviation Museum. I helped with that Twin Comanche up on the poles. The Grasshopper is inside. The 72 flood was halfway up those big hangar doors you walked past. The water mark is displayed inside on the doors. Piper ended production in Lock Haven in 1984.

@@jennsylvania1633Depends on what you're in the mood for? The Old Corner at the corner of Grove St. and E. Church St. has some great pub fare. Open late 7 days per week. The Main St. Grill is also a fine establishment offering full dinner service. I love working for the museum. The history is unbelievable. Our town built over 75000 airplanes! My family owns a hangar across the runway from the museum. My Dad is 83 and still has a Boeing Stearman biplane.

Ahhhhh, Lock Haven. I spent a few years there for college back in 1978 - 1981. My fraternity house was along the river. I haven't been back up there in quite a while. Need to make a road trip back to do some photography. I also need to go to The Texas Restaurant which is still in operation. There were two large businesses in Lock Haven when I was there: the Piper Cub Aircraft plant and the Hammermill Paper Plant. Another spot is Hyner View State Park. It was and still is a hang gliding location.

Church construction has always been fascinating to me. Beautiful stone work and stain glass. In the few years I spent as a child in Philadelphia our church was St Martin of Tours up in Oxford Circle. Never liked going to church 😆 but the stain glass was awesome. Dave mentioned in his comment about the flood gates across the railroad. That would have been my guess as well. Great video Jenn!! There is also a Roxy theater in Northampton PA.

Hi Kevin, my parents were married at St. Martins. It's a beautiful Church!
I too didn't like going to church as a child. I wanted to stay home and watch the Three Stooges, instead....lol
I'm also fascinated with church construction and there are so many beautiful ones in PA. I used to live in Fishtown and sadly they tore down St. Laurentius. It was really sad to see...so many in the neighborhood came out to say goodbye.
