    I am an engineer by day and a woodworker by night... usually after the kids are in bed and before the neighbors call the cops!
    I have a passion for building things out of wood and all things woodworking. I am always looking for new projects that look fun and challenging. My woodworking inspiration comes from my kids, my wife, and the forests around my house. I consider myself a serious hobbyist and I hope you can learn something and get inspired from the projects and mistakes that I make. I will also show you how I organize and work in my small shop in 1 bay of my garage. I will share videos of my past, current, and future woodworking projects with the goal of getting you out in the shop making sawdust!

    Man, that thoughtful act of having nothing on the bottom below the sink for the plumbers is much appreciated by them for sure.

    Boy, this was a kick in the pattudy for me! I bought all of the components for a simple steel pot rack to put on the wall next to my stove and STILL have not done anything with it. And I have been wanting to get under the sink organized for sometime now, so I don't keep buying AJax cleaner. I now have 3 cans of it because somehow they keep getting pushed to the back under bags of sponges. ;>) I just ordered the lumber at my local small lumber store so it will be ready when I go to pay for it. I'll be busy the next day or two, thanks! lol.

    I like your ideas, especially with the steak knife organizer. Nothing worse than getting stabbed by one left loose in a drawer. I made a pullout drawer under the sink, which made a huge difference. I also made some towel racks for the doors which works well.

    • @EveningWoodworker

      Nice! I may have to try a towel rack now.

  • @martin3153

    Firstly let's get this over with. You are skilled and the ideas are fantastic.
    When you are not skilled and don't have the money for a laser thing let's just say the results mess and levels of swearing and screaming are very different. Note how I don't have a channel showing my woodworking skills.

    • @EveningWoodworker

      I know the laser may not be in the budget for everyone, but you could also just write things down on the wood or print them out and glue it on... hopefully, though, some of the ideas can help you to think of new ways to organize your kitchen

  • @randallthomas5207

    Hint: If you don’t have a laser, you can reverse print things with a laser printer, then place them on a piece of wood, with the printed face against the wood, and then transfer much of the printing with a hot iron. There are videos here on TH-cam with details on how to do it.

  • @5ElementsWoodworking

    Nice! Practical, not $30k worth of epoxy, and they look great. We have the hanging thing for our measuring cups and it drives me bananas, so totally going to steal that one. How do you like the fiber laser? I have a 10W LED, and the area is good, but I can only engrave soft materials with that one (ie, no glass/stone/ceramic).

    • @EveningWoodworker

      For what it's designed to do, it's great. The laser is plenty powerful and fast. The limitation is on the engraving area, but you kind of know that when you get it! if you engrave reflective materials, though you have to put something on it that doesn't reflect (tape, matte paint, etc.
