End of sarcasm. In Amsterdam, for example, shops are open from 9am to 6pm on weekdays, in Bilbao it is normal for them to be open from 9am to 9pm. At 22:30, when you go to sleep, the bars here are more than active and there are many people at the cinema or having a relaxed dinner. We have 40 working hour a week by law, a timetable in accordance with our daylight hours (which BTW are a lot) and we like to be with our family, friends, do sport, go to the cinema or theatre, rest... The Mediterranean philosophy, in the Basque Country too, is basically ‘we work to live, we don't live for working’. AND WHEN IN ROME... Right? I said RIGHT?
